Almost certainly yes. In fact, we might have had more fans than Port Vale at our promotion party.

Been to at least two myself, Wimbledon at Selhurst Park for one.

Didn't we take more to Orient one game than were in the home stands ?

I seem to remember the Albion Chelsea game in 1983/4 (div 2) had 21000, and approx 14000 were from Chelsea. Quite a few memories from that game, the Argus advising fans not to go as trouble was guaranteed, an infamous senior police officer telling 3 constables to go and get those people off the crossbar, and my dad elbowing a chelski fan in the groin in the chicken run. It was quite a day...and the North stand was virtually empty...

Pretty sure Villa did in in the FA cup earlier against Sheffield. Was about 11-12k total supporters we brought 6k or 6500 to it. Filled the entire stand.

I used to go to watch Wimbledon at Selhurst as I lived nearby, most home games were like away games as there was no way the Dons could even half fill Smellworst. And people wonder why they ended up in Milton Keynes.

I went to Burnley Vs Maidstone once, Burnley were given the whole Home "Side" and they kept home fans in after the whistle. Easily outnumbered.

Crystal Palace v Charlton, March 2000. 10k away fans (sold out the whole of the Arthur Wait), 8k home iirc. We were walking the Championship title and they were in administration at the time. Shame we're lucky to take 300 to away games these days...

Brighton v Millwall at Gillingham in in 98/99. When e lost 5-1, Jamie Moralee scored for us from 2 yards despite doing his best to miss it. Millwall made up about 75% of the crowd i would say.

Many years ago we played Leeds at home at the Goldstone when their fans reputation for violence was at its worst - I believe most Albion fans stayed away and the police made up the rest of the crowd.

Thinking about it I imagine the likes of FCUM and AFC Wimbledon have probably taken more away than the home crowd loads of times, particularly when they were lower down the pyramid. Maybe a whole season of it?
