Has Stephen Dobbie just kept Gus Poyet in his job??

So to the people saying OP is ridiculous, how long do you think Gus would have lasted if he hadn't won another game? Would Bloom let us go another 5 games without winning?

Yes, 5 games at least I think.

Many managers have been sacked in this division over the last few years based on similar bad runs of form (it would have been no wins in 8)

I know for many on here Gus can do no wrong and walks on water but it's a perfectly valid question.

Depends on the brainlessness of your perspective

With that late winner??

Is this our Mark Robbins/Alex Ferguson moment??

Think you are right thicky because we are in the top ten. Why is the Saints manager still in his job?

Go on admit it. You must have hated my team winning tonight!

Idiot behind me kept going on and on about how Poyet had to go and spent most of the game spouting negative comments about the team as well as non stop f'ing in the family stand. Sounded like he only comes to occasional games. I hope he never comes back, we don't need 'fans' like that.

Gus is doing a decent job and should be given time to see the job through.

No. His job was safe.

The real question is, did Stephen Dobbie just save NSC from stupid, pointless, moronic, waste-of-time, piece-of-shit threads?

Guess not.
I doubt if Ron Paul could have said it better!

Only if you take The Sun and Sky Sports as your lead in thinking.

Tony Bloom is a intelligent and shrewd person, and thankfully takes the longer view.

Had we not won tonight it would have been no wins in 8 games. For a club expecting to get into the play-offs, that's woeful. Most managers would be under pressure with that run so I think it's a perfectly decent thread to discuss!

I agree but it doesn't mean that I want him to go.

Poyet has done an incredible job with us, and continues to. His position was in no danger, because Tony Bloom isn't a knee-jerk reactions man and rightly so. No wins in 8 would have been disappointing and missing out on the play-offs will be a shame if it happens but it's not like we've gone with a boom or bust approach, there is plenty of breathing space and Reading were still in the bottom half at this stage last season. Remain calm, we're on the cusp of brilliance and Gus is leading us there.

Isn't it a five year plan to get to the prem? I think Tony would alow us not to be in the play-off places this year, but would want it next year.

Assuming you're being serious: yes, why on earth wouldn't he? You MIGHT have a case if we were playing really shit with a manager who had no fund of goodwill (both at fan and board level) and if the board had no concept of long term strategic thinking but were only interested in our league position at Christmas. But as none of those are true the concept is laughable.
