October 31st this year will mark one year since construction at Falmer started. Unbelievable. Where has this year gone?

And only 51 years since the start of construction of the old West stand in Newtown Road!

I know you were kidding, but The West Pier is by far the greatest structure in Brighton and Hove.

Apologies if these pics have already been seen but having been working with KSS Group recently on the day job (hotel development), it surprised me to learn they are also the design group behind the Falmer project.

Ah, I should have added that I was told it has been designed with the ability to 'simply' add a further 7,500 seats to the first 22,500, should the club ever need to expand.

When you look through the pictures you realise that the first few months were taken up largely by building the access road and removing the topsoil to expose the chalk...the first bit of construction wasn't until the first week or so of July, the two months since then has seen pretty much the whole of one stand constructed (steel and concrete work), things really have started to get a shift on.
