He wasnt against Burgess Hill and worth another look at him, possibly this evening. Do we know that Gus was only talking to one player and agent today? Can anybody be sure he didnt have a meeting with another or even a third tomorrow and possibly a fourth or fifth.

He said at Burgess Hill there would be 2 or 3 signings this week at the mo its not looking good.

FFS! There are still three days of the week to go. Attention-seeking newbies and JCLs !!! Have the schools broken up already?

London now.
To quote... "That is why Curtis is here and we’ll see if we can get one before we go to Portugal (on Sunday). If not we will see what the situation is with Curtis, Tano and company.”

A bit ambiguous tho.... Romain Vincent is a better candidate imo..

Not looking good-he seems confident and Thursday is always a classic day? if nothing materialises, then i feel assured by the fact that he is intently searching still.

maybe the offer to garvan reflected how low he is on our list of potential targets. u never know... we may have had good news regarding better players.....

and there's still plenty of time yet

The impression I had from the interviews on Sky and the Radio etc is that he has some exciting signings lined up. 3 or 4 close to agreeing deals and 2 hopefully signing this week. The Garvan thing shows money is not the object, but more what GUS wants..ie if he REALLY wanted this player and we had agreed a fee he would have persuaded him(I mean look at CMS). It appears he has very specific targets, they are negotiating hard and hopefully we will see some action...Lets face it, apart from Garvan have we any idea of the 5 players he is after??

I'd rather Gus gets the best players he can then jumping right in and buying any old player. It took time to get Mackail-Smith, and we were all happy about that. So I would prefer Gus to buy less players of a higher quality, than buy more average players.

He does have a habit of exaggerating about signings.

After CMS signed he suggested 2 more to follow by the end of the week. After the game on Sunday something similar.

Plenty of times last season as well

sorry, but to me this reads-i want LESS better players and MORE average players? i perhaps read that despite getting CMS not all signings need to be £2.5m types?

He'd rather get fewer better players, than more average players. Fairly clear, unless of course you are :fishing:
