If we’re doing Potter vs Tuchel then clearly Tuchel’s ahead on trophies, but appears to wear out his welcome pretty quick wherever he goes, and ex-employers seem fairly unanimous that Tuchel’s perfectionism is a strength in some regards, but make him difficult to deal with.

Potter has tended to leap rather than be pushed, suggesting that if he does start to get it right at Chelsea he may f*ck off to Real Madrid after his tenth consecutive win.

Boehly clearly feels that Potter is his man. Part of that may be that Potter’s “blandness” (lack of colossal ego) makes it possible to work with him on an extended basis. Boehly has preferred to work that way in the US if the media reports on his US work are to be trusted.

It's a match made in heaven for Yes Man Potter!

I’m actually quite supportive of anyone trying to prove that it’s possible to be effective without being a colossal extrovert bellend. The alternative leads to figures such as Trump, Johnson, Berlusconi, Mussolini etc.

I do think Potter can come across as thin-skinned occasionally, but if I had to choose between working in the same room as either Tuchel or Potter, I’d pick Potter every time.

I see Diego Simeone is quitting his job and would apparantly like to come to the PL ................

Now, unlike some, I don't hate Potter and want him to succeed, if only to shove it in the face of all those idiot Chelsea fans who think they deserve a big-name foreign manager (I also want Chelsea to crash and burn, and yes, do find it a tad difficult to reconcile the two utcomes!)
If Potter does get the heave-ho, it would be a real hoot to see all the entitled Chelsea plastics w*nking themselves stupid over their great new shiny foreign manager, a suitable fit for their great club and their great needs and entitlement - only to find out what sort of football he plays. Whoops!

Why is Tuchel called Meth Boy? Have I missed something?
That’s just me, he’s skinny as a rake, bad complexion and when in fully animated mode he looks like a meth addict from breaking bad.
Not particularly clever or funny but I’m easily pleased.

Yep
Is there any chance of going on this forum these days and not having a thread totally dominated by one poster (who’s never been to a game)? Even on ignore it makes it impossible to read ANY THREAD with all the quoting him ffs 🤦🏻‍♂️
Nope unfortunately, typical armchair wannabe manger spending no money at the club getting carried away as usual.

Why are we banging on about Chelsea and Potter. Pointless thread.
It’s quite amusing though to see him so out of his depth, Bruno with his head in his hands every time City scored.
Potter was getting cocky until we battered them that really wasn’t meant to be in the script since then they beat er Bmuff 🤣😂

Brighton factually.....
Some nice comments in the Shed End

"How much time? The chappie that took over at Brighton has had less time. And got them scoring loads of goals!
Last season everyone saying how well Brighton were playing but couldn’t score. We on the other hand we’re scoring.. now we’re not!
I’m not super smart, and often wrong…but is Potter trying to play pretty football too much. Get the damned ball forward quicker. Give the forwards something to run on to. It’s several times more productive than passing the ball back and square several times before losing it and being caught on the hop.
Bloom the Brighton Chairman must think we are his personal Charity. Sold us Potters contract for millions. We sold him Lamptey for peanuts, he’s running amok now in the Prem… Fastest thing since Boult!
Then to rub salt into it all. Potter convinces Todd to splash out (£60+Mill and add ons) for the hairy full back that runs around like a man possessed! Think I’m more pizzed off than I’ve ever been with the club. ☹️"

"Potter unfortunately has form on going on bad runs. At Brighton, he went 14 games without a win, one win in 2020 at the AmEx. 3 months without a win, 3 months without scoring at home.
That is not a good look at all. He surely won’t get away with that at Chelsea"

Makes you appreciate Mr Bloom and how it all turned out so far eh

If only we were smart enough to notice that.

Potter has no consistency as a manager. Take last season. Flying start followed by a long winless run ( 11 games ) Rally over Xmas/New Year followed by six straight defeats. Strong finish.
Its not all down to the fixture list. He chops and changes too much. He seems uncomfortable when he has a settled side and craves change. Its as if he feels he has to keep the whole squad happy but also to play up to his image of a flexible, free thinker.

This season we threw away points at Fulham for the same reason. Caceido got him the Chelsea job IMO a player he didn’t realise was that good.
