[Help] Has anyone WITH responsibilities ever just quit their job with no backup plan?

I was thinking about quitting a job almost 11 years ago but couldn't make the plunge ,unexpectedly though was called into the office and offered £7k to sign a NDA and leave .
Not a fortune but didn't take long to accept

I had a good feeling about the job while applying.
A great feeling while being interviewed.

My new boss said 'id like to offer you the job'.

Well what he actually said was

'Id like too off..'

By that time my hand was already out shaking his.

Well this has been all a bit of a whirlwind.

Pushed forward by highlighting my issue with the community here.

I saw a job I liked the look of and applied for on Friday morning.
Set up an interview in my next break, Friday lunchtime.
Worked all weekend through various degrees of unmitigating clusterf**Kery.

Interview this morning.
Which ended with shaking hands on a new job.

Couldn't have done it without you.

I guess knowing I can't return here to moan about my job got me to the point I needed to get too.

Well done mate.

The further back in time that place goes the more you'll realise how much it was affecting you. Just like coming out of any toxic relationship.

Congratulations SB!

In the midst of so much bad news, it's lovely to hear some good news for a change!

Couldn't happen to a nicer bloke

Just reading through this thread from start to finish this evening. What a happy ending. Obviously don't know you but genuinely pleased for you - hope the new job goes well. A glimmer of good news at a very shitty time.

Well just don't go f***ing it up, life's tough for everyone, so we're all depending on you,

No Pressure

Yeah I'm not out of the woods yet.

I need to get my swagger back (can't think of a less twatty expression) having been ground down for too long now.
As said elsewhere, if nothing else, at least I'll soon find out if 'it' is everyone else, or...

...it is actually me!

Congratulations, life is far to short to be unhappy in employment, I hope this new chapter brings you much reward and happiness [emoji1303]

Congrats Stat and hope it all works out for you.

I assume you did check that they have a Cycle to Work scheme as part of the benefits package:smile:
