The cider issue has been addressed before: experience teaches me that a positive response comes from obvious large sales figures and very little else these days.......

The "decent" cider issue needs to be raised at the upcoming fans forum.

I intend to campaign for decent cider and perry. On the Perry front I intend to found the Campaign for Real Authentic Perry, or would that be a crap idea?

I have just heard a rumour that harveys are not supplying the Amex from next season!

This comes from a very reliable source.

I can't believe this !

I emailed Paul Barber this morning, this is his reply

Dear JonThanks for your e-mail.
This rumour is complete nonsense. We will still be selling Harvey's in all areas.
Regards, Paul

Scaling down the catering offerings will be transport planning suicide! The ONLY reason that the transport works on matchdays is because loads of people arrive early and leave late. You mess with the beers and pies at your peril BHAFC... if 30,000 left on the final whistle the queue for the station would snake all the way around the stadium.

On one level you've got to feel sorry for Barber-out, the he-witch.

He's spent the last 6 weeks dealing with a very difficult situation.
It's been handled in house and in the main respected by the fans.
He's edging towards closure, appoints a new manager, there's light at the end of the tunnel.

The this happens.

He's bombarded with e-mails.
This thread is gloriously mentals.
Over 500 posts on something that isn't happening.

AND STILL NOBODY IS PREPARED TO GIVE IT UP.

This is why I love NSC.

Lager drinkers smell of wee-wee.

I care more about keeping Sussex beer and pies at the Amex than I did about whether Poyet stayed or left.

Most people I know who drink cider at the AMEX are quite happy with Strongbow.

So I take it you know one person who drinks cider with no taste buds. I personally know no one who likes it but will drink it if the only thing on offer and fancy a change from lager.

Because some people have completely different tastebuds to others. Some people prefer to eat mass produced Cheddar Cheese, I prefer to eat goats cheese, same thing.

Agree, but I am still puzzled as to why this is. But the main thrust of my post was that this does not make me a snob.

What if Barber is fibbing? :moo:

I think 20 more pages of panic are in order.

It is one of the pleasures of my occasional forays away thinking about where to go and what to drink. It is good to care.

?

Absolutely this..... It's the reason why Derby away is the first date ringed on my calendar for this season. A weekend of excellant ale in some quality boozers and a game of soccerball thrown in. Ffs I walked past a dozen pubs last season to hit the Brunswick pre match.

I've genuinely never heard that sentence pass anyones lips before.

Wouldn't seem out of place in a Paul Hogan advert for Fosters we endured thirty years ago
