Harty said he was going to try and get DK on before the transfer window opens.
Well will it be the same as last year? We will bring in five players to strenghen the squad. No mention that we would sell our captain to pay for this.
And to make up our five signings we pay a massive £50k (for us) on a second rate striker who is where now?
We have all the bullshit about a top class midfielder to replace Hammond, which turns out to be Thompson! Well he has not proved to me that he was good enough to clean Hammonds boots.
So this next interview with DK should be very interesting, if in fact Harty manages to pull it off.

he probably wont come on, as there is no easy fa cup third round game to appear on after we have recorded a victory to move us into the fourth round and therefore all the callers will be happy

oh...

hmm, Murray or Hammond?

Doubt we would have bought or afforded Murray if Hammond hadn't been shipped out.

Hammond wasn't exactly in sparkling form when we mugged Colchester for their cash.

Murray out, with a replacement striker, and a new winger and central midfielder.

Is the midfield better without him?
How many on here say that until we sort out the midfield we are going no where.
What is the good of having Murray without a midfield to supply him with the chances, now if we had kept Hammond and got Murray we may well have made the play off's. O'h, perhaps I answered my own question, we really did not want to maybe get promotion.

The midfield was awful even with Hammond here. It's still awful now.

Didn't Hammond have to go because he thought he was worth more money than what we were offering?

Given his position with Colchester, relegation, and now even below us with their fans calling him a waster, maybe we got rid at the right time!

I for one think that Hammond was a very important player to us and I think so did Wilkins. This also may have been part of any rift between him and DK.
And then we go and spend 50k on Dixon? maybe only a portion of that would have kept Hammond here.

I was never a Hammond fan, so maybe my view is tainted somewhat, but what you are saying may have crumbs of truth. I guess we will never know unless Dean decides to go public.

I understand about your view on Hammond.
He was one of those players that fans either loved or hated and I think the split was down the middle amongst the fans. Much the same as Murray today, which I must admit to being not overly impressed with him. But that is what football is all about, opinions.

If he was to speak to Harty, it'd be likely only to be about Falmer :bla:

I keep forgetting the rules on here about former employees. Lets get this straight then.

Wilkins = Mourinho
Hammond = Gerrard
Albion under Wilkins = Barcelona
Albion under Adams = Forest Green Rovers

Anything else ?

Hammond was nothing special as neither is Thomson, but Thomson's certainly no worse. The only thing Hammond did have in him was that he could score a goal or two.

I suppose the only difference is that Thomson can't win a ball in the air............can't win a tackle,............can't make a forward pass...........and doesn,t score as many goals as Hammond.

Just out of interest...............how many goals has Thomson scored in the 30-40 games he's "played" for us...?
