Harty - you have been a fantastic servant and will always be a top man in many fans eyes for this club but please please realise that you no longer have it in you at this level.

It's not his decision though is it. Wilkins made the correct decsion to get rid but for some unknown reason he was given another chance.

Are you taking the piss? FAT MATT? I think there are one or two you could possibly make that accusation towards, but Richards seems in perfect shape to me. Not sure why he was on the wing, but he didn't do a bad job compared to the rest of the jokers out there. Oh, and he's the best left-back I've seen in all my time supporting the club. You plum.

left back yes i agree i cant fault him but left mid he is not made for anyway nothing wrong with trying these things see how they go,always nice to know players can play multiple positions if needed

But why was he on the wing? I agree that he is a fantstic left back. Why play him out of position? I wasn't able to go today but was really suprised by what I've heard went on tactically. I'm a bit worried about some of the bizarre positional decisions. It has an air of McGhee about it. We shouldn't need to have a centre half in midfield, a central midfileder at left back, a left back in the left wing and a right midfielder/full back up front. Then you have Fraser on the right wing. Still, as I say, I wasn't there. Just seems a bit bizarre to me.

I think that it has gone over the heads of many that Matt Richards started as Left Midfielder and was converted to left back by Ipswich also he says it is his best position.

Richards may think LM is his best position, but I suspect I'm in a very large majority of those who saw todays game with the opinion that he appears much much better at LB.

Certainly from what Ive seen over the last season or so, he is a superb left back at this level and has shown the ability to break forward when needed from that position as well. Today, he never really looked threatening or able to beat his man, but that may be due to good defending, Watford only put one past them at home in midweek. But then again, no one looked able to do that so maybe unfair to judge him on this one game. However, I want to see him back at LB asap.

How is realising he's not good enough not his decision?!?! He could have left the club after his testimonial, the perfect way to say goodbye to the fans, and moved down a couple of divisions, playing the rest of his career out as a top player for a different club. Instead he's decided to be a bit part player here and slowly disappear. Harty has been a fantastic player for us over the years, and it was sad to watch him today.

I'm not sure a man who claims to have attended todays match yet not see possibly the best save at Withdean in years is in any position to use the words "it has gone over the heads of many."

As I have said on another thread where I sit in L Block of the North Stand it looked as if he hadnt got to it and the shot had just hit the post but then unlike you I am not perfect.

As for perfection, well, neither of us fall into that category, but I know a Dutchman who does:yahoo:

He has a wife, kids, mortgage etc. Dropping down a couple of divisions would have resulted in an even larger pay cut. Would you give up your job if you knew you weren't up to scratch or would you hang around and keep the salary?
