I went there at the end of January - it was a Friday night and there were 8 of us. Apart from two tables of 2 people who were there when we arrived at 7.30pm and a group of 4 people who turned up just before 9.00pm the place was empty. We did think that if this was a normal Friday night for them the writing was on the wall. The service was fine and friendly enough but the food wasn't great, especially considering they weren't exactly rushed off their feet in the kitchen. The menu looked as though it hadn't changed much for years apart from the daily 2 for 1 deals they were offering which was another warning sign! Its a shame but it felt as though it had had its day and hadn't moved on given all the other restaurants in Brighton & Hove.
2-4-1 deals are the norm now bud, if you don't do deals like that, you won't last very long!
It depends what your target customer is though.

Bugger! Only recently discovered this gem. The best cooked breakfast I have ever eaten outside of my own home. Was planning to regularly start home games there, grab a 25 bus, beers in the Swan, then grab my seat in WSU, oh well

You need to aim deals at ALL of your different customers these days by running multiple deals at the same time. For example, food deals for your families and office workers, drinks deals for your younger clientele and your retired day time drinkers. But you also have to give people a better experience than you competitors do,as they say...service is king, without that, you will fail.
when did it close?
