This is quite a significant victory for Watson and the Duke.

People I'm sure will ask why did he settle. It's fairly simple. If a major settlement that meets most of the claim isn't accepted then even if you win the trial you could end up losing.

To give a full apology, to (bar admitting guilt) admit the events being claimed happened, and to have to pay a significant amount in damages, and costs, and may still be subject to a criminal prosecution Is a huge loss for NGN
