Regarding the offending texts, I hear much worse in my local pub.
Journalists love stories like Moody-Mackay because they give them an opportunity to flaunt their "right-on" liberal credentials, which are seen as a prerequisite for advancement.

I have to agree with that. We all know that these footballers whom we cheer on for their skill and determination are not usually "nice" people. They live in a tough world where talk is cheap and it is big to cuss and slag off others. Let's not allow media hypocrisy to fool us.

First of all i echo Harry Redknapps sentiments which are 100% correct. Certain amount of snobbery on here towards HR (why), if Arsene Wenger had said that or Roberto Martinez would it have met with such a negative reaction on here? I doubt it.
I personally feel really sorry for Malky Mackay and Ian Moody because all over some harmless lads banter texts neither of them will ever work in football ever again, as soon as 'racism' rears its head you are finished. They were private texts (yes I know they were on company phones) between two blokes who to me were guilty of being naive rather than rascist. We've all made inappropriate comments and sent inappropriate texts in our time. I thought the one about 'having a go on her falsies' was hilarious and if people on here are honest they probably did as well. As for 'homophobic' do me a favour.........was just a jokey comment about a CC employee, the type we've probably all made at same time in our work career.
The irony about HR's comments is that if MM was a convicted rapist or murderer he would would be welcomed back into the 'football football', as for example Lee Hughes and the goalkeeper McCormack were (yes i know they weren't convicted of murder, but technically they did murder) have been, and Ched Evans (convicted of rape) will be. But hey send a 'rascist' text to your mate and thats you finished. Ridiculous.
As usual all of the usual comments who make a nice living out of the 'racism in football' (Lord Ousely, Jason Roberts) are bouncing up and down making the usual exaggerated claims about 'proof that racism does still exist in football' Funny how when Paul Elliott called another footballer a '******' they were strangely silent.

Ah. I think only one person has said that. I am just suggesting that Malky is no different to anyone else - we have all sent private messages that probably wouldn't stand up to public scrutiny.
He's an over-rated manager though... I stand by that. Lucky escape for Palace in my opinion

Probably. But I know that if I was to send such messages on a phone or computer owned by my employer, I would be in a whole world of grief, as would many people I suspect. This is what Mackay has done, it's believed. What you send using their technology is fair game for them to inspect, isn't it?
I would unquestionably lose my job if I got caught sending stuff like that via my work email. Or on one of their phones, regardless of who it was to or whether they were offended.

I hope for Harry's sake that Malky isn't a rapist or a paedophile. That would make him look foolish

For years now, many people have made a very nice living, thank you, playing the ' race-card ' and even now, when we are a mature, multi ethnic society and most people are comfortable with each other, these individuals have to stir it up at any given opportunity. Listening to them, you would think we are back in Alabama in 1963.
Jason Roberts seems to have adopted the mantle of self-appointed spokesman for black footballers, even though many would disagree with his viewpoint. Perhaps he is displaying his own lack of self-confidence and self-awareness and a degree of immaturity and naivety. To me, he comes across as a black man with a chip on his shoulder and if that is racist, I don't care. I just feel that in trying to progress his own career and make a name for himself, he is actually doing more harm than good.

I do wonder how stupid Mackay is. Uses work tech to repeatedly send dodgy communications and then threatens to sue the boss for 7.5m. Pretty obvious the first thing the owner will do is search everything he can for incriminating evidence. He has well and truly picked the wrong fight.
