Our favorite website Transfer Rumours reckon he is about to sign for Palace, so I am told.

Swansea midfielder Ryan Harley, who is wanted by Brighton, is in talks with Crystal Palace. Palace are keen on bringing another player in on a permanent deal after signing a number of short term loans and sees Harley as an ideal player, even thought he has yet to feature for the first team at Swansea City. Harley was on loan at Exeter last season.

Harley deal held up by international clearance

Ryan Harley remains on course for a move to Albion - but not in time to be involved against Blackpool at The Amex on Saturday.

A £250,000 deal to bring the 26-year-old midfielder south from Swansea is in place but international clearance is required from the Welsh FA.

Swansea chief Brendan Rodgers said: "Ryan has probably seen that his chances will be limited here and he's at the age where he wants to play."

See tomorrow's Argus for the full story.

What's the chances that is the full story?

The most recent story (tonight) from SSN quotes Gus as saying "he is hopeful of Harley soon, and is working on something else". Intrigue!

Sounds like he's arrived:

"Ryan Harley (born 22 January 1985) is a English footballer who plays for Brighton and Hove Albion Football Club as a midfielder."

Wikipedia!! bit premature it seems!!

These transfer sagas are beginning to follow a well worn script! On/off, delays, intrigues, Palace rumours - roll on the end of August!

Great buy!

On the Welsh thing..... put Swansea, Cardiff, Wrexham and Newport with the top 8 Scot teams, 4 each from league of Wales and League of Ireland or Northern Ireland (only rough thinking), and have a Celtic Premier, with the nations current leagues minus the 'massive' clubs running just below in a pyramid.

I'd let just the teams in that 'Celtic Prem' into the League cup too

The most ridiculous thing I have heard this week, possibly all summer.

Agree.
I just don't believe this ridiculous story. Sounds to me like somebody's taking the piss out of Andy Naylor by leaking a dodgy story and he's printed it.
International clearance, my arse. It's Wales ffs, not bloody Outer Mongolia!

Whether or not the story is true, it IS true that international clearance is needed to go from a Welsh team to an English team. Google "FA international clearance" if you need verification of that but I'm sure someone posted a quote from the player registration form earlier anyway.

Like the idea of a Celtic League - you'd need a "no relegation" rule though - wouldn't want to lose Rangers and Celtic from the competition.

Just hope he shaves off that ginger beard when he signs!!

Indeed. If you are unfortunate enough to have ginger hair, you should make sure you have as little of it as possible. Everybody knows that.

If the Palace thing proves unfounded, this will be good reason not to visit those rumours sites again, and stick to tried, tested & well-financed Telegraph, Guardian, BBC & Sky websites; ignoring the lies elsewhere!
