u won't need to any lemon to your gin will you...

bitter enough methinks

Sounds like he might be a mate of yours, slightly too convenient to blame the agent imo. Look at the reaction to Virgo, who was a much more important player to the squad.

Harding is going to get what he deserves in the way of abuse, behave like a shit, get treated like one imo and unlikely he'sll give one either..

He was scouted by Everton tho'... Man U extremely hard to believe...

Oh, and he IS better at lb than Mayo... the latter will be torn apart if he plays lb for us this season... MM MUST get someone in, or at least switch Dodd to lb, IMHO...

Not really bitter, if another employer offered me more money etc I'd be off like a shot. Don't blame him for that at all.

That's the real world, I can live with it.

Football is a bit of fun, without good guys and bad guys it'd turn into golf, with polite applause and the occasional softly whispered "Shot!". It's subjective, we turn up hoping to see our team win, not to witness splendid football from both sides and marvel at the opposition's smooth passing style.

Death threats etc, I would condemn, but there's nothing like that on here. It's just a few people moaning at what they perceive as a slight on their beloved club. Virgo and Zamora weren't *perceived* to be screwing the Albion for their own benefit, Harding was, whether its true or not. And he made the mistake of allowing his determination to leave to affect his performance on the pitch, which is the ultimate sin to your average blue-tinted spectacle-wearing fan. He was dire for most of last season!

Virgo and Zamora were, of course, better players than Harding, which also affects our view of them considerably :lolol:

I'm starting to think you're his Dad :lolol:

Agree with all of that except that Dan was playing very well by end of season... yes, he made a lot of mistakes at the start of the season... the biggest mistake he made at the end of the season was the way he behaved towards our club over his Leeds transfer...

Right now, I'm much more interested in Mayo's shortcomings and what we will get for Dan...

"It's nice if the fans and the manager are going to say good things about you, it gives you a nice feeling, but that's my job at the end of the day."

Think he's having a subtle swipe at us here?

Then again...

"You are only as good as your last game so you have got to keep producing the goods and hopefully you will stay in the team."

He obviously realises why so many people thought he was a spoilt little prima donna.

... But MM did drop him when he was playing badly at the start of last season... didn't take MM too long to realise that Mayo wasn't up to it tho', so back came Harding... and he quite rightly held his place for the rest of the season...

If we go with Mayo at lb this season, we are fcuked... this is the issue we should be concentrating on... not Harding's comments...

I keep seeing this slagging of Mayo from various people on here, and frankly, I just don't GET it.

I don't think he's done a lot wrong. The only thing I would say is that his distribution sometimes lets him down. But he's rarely caught out of position (unlike Harding), he's strong and determined in the tackle WITHOUT being reckless (unlike Harding), and his attitude is absolutely first class (uhhhh....unlike Harding).

Personally, I will have absolutely no quarms if Mayo is first choice LB this season. He rarely lets us down.

Pace is the problem and imo it is a massive problem, the rest is spot on though

No. No I'm not.

I don't recall tearing my hair out as a right-winger bears down on out penalty area because Mayo's gone AWOL. Steady eddie. He's always there.

I'll concede that pace isn't something he has in his armoury. But I think he compensates for this by not being reckless in his positioning. I honestly do not recall seeing Mayo getting skinned too many times even in this division. There are always occasions when, at this level, someone is going to get the better of him. But it doesn't happen often enough for him to be considered a weak link in the side.

His arse looked a bit big sometimes which is probably why he lost his place, but as long as he's on top of his fitness, Mayo's alright by me.

Player of the Season 2002-03 (in this division).
I will be paying homage at his testimonial. Great servant to the club, and definately still capable of playing at this level.
