Me and Mrs DCH exchange cards but that's all. I buy her flowers regularly so no need to pay inflated prices over this period (and I noticed yesterday that the local florists all seemed to be open yesterday when they are usually closed).

As for restaurants, same thing. We like to eat out regularly but refuse to pay double the price for a set menu on a night they would usually be very quite and stick a rose on the table to justify the hike.

Weve never really done Valentines but, having no kids at home for the first time in 18yrs yesterday, we decided to go out and see Death on the Nile at the Depot in Lewes - followed by Pizza Express. No inflated prices, just a card to each other, and a thoroughly lovely day together (inc a walk and coffee at Stanmer Park) as we had it booked off work anyway. Perfect.
