Yeah it was a strange atmosphere. More relief I would say. We’d not won anything and had so much more to do to save the club.

The view was pretty crap for many of us as it was. If we'd crammed more in I wouldn't have seen the match at all - as it was I didn't see the ball hit the back of the net. Which is possibly why I have watched it so often since!
Haha, me too! I saw Maskell take that shot but couldn't see where it was heading and only realised that it had rebounded off of something - either the post or keeper - due to the fact that Albion attackers were suddenly all running towards the 6 yard box, but had no idea where it had rebounded to. Only knew we had scored due to net rippling, players reeling away in celebration and, obviously, everyone down in front of us going mental. Had no idea who actually put the rebound away until listening to the radio on the way home.

I've still got the audio recording of the match on cassette. I couldn't bear to listen live but played it through when I knew the result.

Lovely coconut chilli prawns in some open fronted bar in Cheltenham post match.

Tranquility ruined by the coach full of yobbos turning up at the pub next door in that old banger of a coach 🤣🤣🤣
Our original old banger of a coach finally gave up somewhere around Dorking enroute when the gearbox blew up. Luckily a replacement was called out from a nearby firm and we continued on our way to the most stressful and unenjoyable 90 minutes of football I'm ever likely to experience.

My marriage of 20 years had gone wrong the week before and standing on the terraces I thought if I don't have a heart attack now I'll live forever, and so far.......................
My ex wife told me she no longer wanted to be with me on a Saturday morning; I went to watch an England World Cup qualifier in the afternoon. That day remains one of my happiest and most significant memories of a football match as a result. Going to Hereford in a similar scenario would've been like that level of nostalgia on steroids!

Complete Carnage would be a better description
Wasn't it just! (The Cattle Market afterwards)

My minibus group of a dozen were one of the first to enter the cattle market to be greeted by some young Hereford scamps (spotters) closely followed by a load of Hereford intent on 'bother' :( We were all thinking "Fuqk" until a mob of Usian-Bolt inspired BHA charged passed us to attack the Hereford mob. Chaos ensured.

What. A. Day. (although I don't want to ever go through that whole-game experience again, as anyone who was there that day no doubt will testify)

Don’t really see the home sewn Union Flags anymore, several there that day, mine was on the middle fence. I think there was only one St George Cross, in the bottom photo on the right.
Yes looks like quite few there that day.
Leftovers I suppose before the changeover to St George after Euro 96.
