One of the great days on the calendar, hope everyone has a fantastic day!
My sentiments exactly, to see CBeebies having a Halloween themed week is typical of the desperate attempts to borŕow someone else's festival.Hate it with a passion. American rubbish, scaring vulnerable people pah
i will be having a great day. My teenage kids will be going out trick or treating later. Unlike most they only got to houses without decorations. That way houses that normally miss out on the fun can join in all the halloween fun.
I don't mind it. Mrs TC rather enjoys it all so we will be having our regular Halloween themed get together with friends and family at ours. It's been celebrated in this country for centuries.
I prefer Bonfire night though not your incestuous, unwelcoming Lewes crowd of inbreds for us. Shoreham beach is where it's at for traditional bonfire night celebration and all are welcome. Fortunately the saddos in societies who spend all year dreaming of this one night stay away and it's just good folk out for a good night before heading to the boozer. Perfect.
dim the lights, turn the TV down and pretend I'm not in...

Having been on this planet for 64 years, I was never aware of Halloween being "celebrated" until comparatively recently.

And I think Halloween is very tiresome. I will have a box of Quality Street by the front door for if any little ones come round in the neighbourhood - they would usually be accompanied by parents, so it would seem churlish not to. But I certainly don't embrace it. It's too American.
