I have no idea, but I hope so.

so, do I - ridiculous idea. And BTW, it wasn't the FA's idea, wasn't it the Football League chairmen or something that voted it in?

Can not understand why he has not been involved the last couple of months, when he played it's the only time we have had someone trying to get into tho box and score goals from central midfield. Navs has played well but still think a midfield three of bridcutt jfc and Vicente is the answer????

This is why your not a highly paid manager at a championship club,no understanding of the game.......

He is 17 years old. It is not 'poor treatment' to develop him slowly. Alex Ferguson doesn't put players in the 1st team at 17, and nor should we. We have at least two or three experienced Championship players in his position, there is no way we should be throwing him in yet. He'll get his chance again, we don't want to ruin him. If Gus (who sees him every day in training) doesn't think he's ready yet, then that's good enough for me.

Completely agree with this.

I'd say it appears we are treating JFC very well (rather than very poorly), giving him little bursts of first-team action and experience, but without the pressure of playing week in week out, which could seriously harm his development (if for example he made a few mistakes and the crowd got on his back a bit).

He'll probably be involved more and more next season, but I still wouldn't expect him to be a first team regular.

I agree but cannot see him dropping Navs.
Also, Gus spoke of how Watford are a very physical so he won't bring jfc in.

f***ing dickhead ^^^

Does anyone remember similar threads on here, and letters to the Argus re: Jake Robinson. That should be a lesson to all of us.

I am not going to slate Poyet no more...He is right not to play JFC, of course he is. Gus knows the players better than we do, what could a 17 year old lad possible add to our midfield of Bridcutt/ Navarro and Dicker....Can't believe some tossers on this site ffs, he is only 17ffs,,you win nothing with kids you know!!!!

I really cannot understand those who think JFC has been anything other than well looked after, still less that he is some sort of footballing messiah likely to make the same sort of impact as Vicente. He just doesn't have the experience and in a side lacking height and muscle in midfield he would inevitably have been repeatedly targetted and destroyed by opposing sides to the potential long term detriment of his professional career

Whilst I agree with everyone- I would of like to have seen him put out on loan somewhere for the 2nd half of the season- just to get some league actions somewhere in Div 1 or 2.

There was a rumour he was close to going out on loan at one point but then we needed him so it didn't happen.

Gus was probably right to take him out when he did, but I'm a little disappointed he hasn't featured AT ALL since then, there've been times we could have done with him at least on the bench. The seven subs rule doesn't help youngsters but in that short time he proved he's capable of playing at this level, so to me that negates the idea that is a risk putting a younger player on the bench. It is if they're totally untried, but JFC isn't.

Get social services/childline involved I say, imagine. 17 years old, playing for BHA reserves and played against Newcastle in the FA cup. Getting stuck into a couple of first team games. Probably earning a little over minimum wage, what do you reckon? 500 quid a week? Just terrible..
I feel awful for the fella, you know what, for this one chance only, I'll trade places with the poor bugger so he can get some proper treatment.

You're missing the point.

No I'm not, my point is that age doesn't matter if your good enough... What point am I missing, he is not good enough? or Gus doesn't think he is good enough?.. Either of these may be the case, but please stop saying 17 is too young. Norman Whiteside was 17 when he played in a World Cup.

Maybe we will see him at Barnsley or maybe home to Brum - whichever game is the first with nothing riding on it.
