Adam was disco yesterday at the back. He seemed to be calmly organizing things and showed excellent composure. Dunk was also solid, as was Brez in goal who seems to have added a bit of renewed confidence to the back four.

Question is though, who will Gus drop when Greer returns? Will he move Adam to full back? Or should he leave Greer out for a bit?

Much as I love Gorgeous Gordon, I think he will have to fight to get his place back in the team.
Thought Dunky & El Abd were terrific.

I thought Dunk looked calmer and more assured alongside El Abd than he does alongside Greer.

Always easy to look solid at the back when the oppo only start attacking after 80mins. Having said that, i would leave greer out. doesnt win enough headers and can be a liability, as we have witnessed on more than 1 occassion. serves him right really.

This, plus his poor disciplinary record - needs a spell on the bench.

I have thought for a while that we struggle a bit in midfield, yesterday was an except as Bridcutt, Navarro and Sparrow were fantastic.

So in a round about way I am saying play Greer, Dunk and El-Abd and pack midfield, my only concern with that would be who plays as wing back. I really don't think you can drop Dunk as he has been brilliant, yes concerns over disciplinary record but that in inexpereince, he really does look more and more like Lawrenson every week.

There you are answered a question with a question?

Do we not have a good wing back in Calderon then? Greer's sending off was stupid and to me shows why Adam would be a better captain and would be more vocal with any younger players. Greer never seems to be that kind of player to me

We've just played one of the worst teams in this division. Even then they created two glorious chances that they failed to stick away. Therefore, some perspective on yesterday is required.

I'd be surprised if Greer went from being captain to the bench. I'd also be surprised if Dunk was dropped, as he's quality and will be a Prem player eventually.

I'd play El-Abd at left back. He's got something about him, a scrapper.

Greer is the skipper and will come straight back in, I think dunk will drop out and Adam and Gordon will become gus's main pairing.

Being a captain is so much more than disciplinary matters though. It's easy to miss what he does in the team as so much of it is off the ball. But if you watch him for a few minutes when he hasn't got the ball, you see just how much he's doing in terms of organisation and communication of the defence and the whole team. He's constantly talking, especially to Dunk. Lewis said it himself that playing alongside Greer is a massive part of why he has come on so much this year.

One of our most underrated players and I never understand why. Very hard to drop him in my opinion, despite El-Abd and Dunk's performances.

It is more than disciplinary matters but the combo of Greer and Dunk in terms of bookings has clearly caused problems. Dunk maybe saying it has brought his game on with Greer but I would not doubt playing with El Abd would of been as good. You CANNOT have that many bookings in central defence before it becomes a big problem. Greer sending off against Saints showed a lack of leadership in my opinion just by what he was sent off for

Imo el abd is the best cb at the club and probably a good contender for the captain role. I think greer should fight for his place back. Dunk and adam deserve their place

i actually think he was a tad unlucky to be sent off...it wasn't a deliberate act...and i believe greer has been one of out most consistent performers this season

El Bad deserves the armband and the centre back role , brilliant organisation from him yesterday

Bristol C were shite yesterday; without any cutting edge and thus provide very little form guidance to determine our best centre pairing.

Greer is our captain and best player in my opinion (though Glasweigan and thus prone to occasional acts of violence - he cannae help it).

Greer and Dunk centre backs.
