Brighton factually.....
Brighton manager Gus Poyet:

We were a bit too open, we exchanged attack for attack and chance for chance, and we tried to address that at half-time to try to win the game.

But it was totally opposite, there were three mistake to give them the chance for the first goal. After that, Watford were the better team, we were always chasing, always in a hurry

Jesus Christ when the feck was that then !!

Come on dont insult me by telling me that, because that is not what I saw

Totally agree .... sometimes i wonder if Gus has watched the same game as us ... There was def no urgency showed by us today so that clptrap about being in a hurry is just that

You have to remember that English is not his first language, and it may have come across as a different meaning. I wonder if he meant always chasing, always harried?

he has a vision of how to play the game that we have seen works. but players are people and don't always stick to it, particularly when they feel the game is slipping away from them. right or wrong - that is how he appears to see it.
as fans we can see that it isn't right and that lumping it forward is the answer - no one was screaming more than me at the back four titting around in injury time - but that is how he wants to play because he thinks it has more chance of resulting in a goal.
we just need better players

The only place Lopez hurried too was away from Bruno whenever he had the ball, those two couldn't manage playing conkers together let alone football.

Bullshit. For long periods we were boring, lethargic and simply lacking in any desire.

Yep.... And that helps us in the stands get some Shuteye ... It was very sleep inducing.

They taught us how to counter attack. They played the same way we did, but actually countered instead of passing it back to Almunia. Which, incidentally, got them 3 goals.

Or perhaps he meant we were rushing, allowing fans to force us into playing things before they were ready. Like that old saying 'less haste, more speed' perhaps he felt we had too much haste.

I do get what he's trying to say. When we got back to 1-1, we left ourselves exposed positionally for their second goal. And quite frankly, the way the last three defenders were all in Watford's half in the build up to the third suggests an eagerness that helped to undo us.

That said, using too 'fast' in how we played, without clarity about what he meant by this, opens him up to the derision already seen on this thread. But Gus, I know what you mean!

perhaps this is the problem? maybe Poyet tells the players one thing but means another and they never end up doing what he wants ???

Does he say things like 'I want you to play this match like you really know your shit' and because of his accent, it's heard by the players as 'I want you to play this match like you really know you're shit'?

Thought it was like watching 12 OAPs kicking booting the bag of wind round at times.

Good for you...we are all f***ing idiots, but you alone understand what he means. Shame the players didn't understand what he meant ......

When we equalised the players went a bit head-mental and started sprinting after everything somewhat recklessly. I said at the time we need to calm down otherwise we will fall behind immediately. Inevitably we did.
