Maybe Gus should be taught the English phrase 'head mental' as used perfectly by Kazenga <3

Well that is two of you.

My take on all of this is that poyets style of play is fantastic when teams allow us to play the way we want, but in the last few months....and I can go back to stoke city in the FA cup...teams have Sussed how we play so we can all see it...but the problem is that we do not appear to be able to adapt. We lack pace through the middle....when was the last time you saw us do a box to box break? If we are going to persist with a one man forward line then we need someone to back him up....this is blatantly obvious and yes people tonight are frustrated...and there are some on here who all they do is wind everyone up.

What is really frustrating is our inability to play at more than one pace.

That is my opinion for what it's worth and if you don't agree, then ah well. It's only a game after all.

I'm not actually disagreeing with your analysis of where the team are going wrong and what qualities the team needs to find. In fact, I agree.

What I'm saying is that I understand what Poyet meant with his use of the word 'fast' - although, as another poster has suggested, 'haste' would have been the more exact word to characterise the rushed approach to certain aspects of the game, such as the way the ball was cheaply given away that led to the final Watford goal, and how the last three defenders had unnecessarily over-committed themselves into the Watford half.

And I think it's possible for the side to play a much faster tempo game, which is what you are advocating, without the hare-kiri of the rushed aspects of play that undid us on the counter-attack.
