Gus/DiMatteo to QPR?

Don't understand why people sack a manager a day before a match.

If Palace were in their usual (proper) place near the bottom of the league, then I could see that happening.
But, at least until December 1st< they're not, and there's the massive likelyhood that QPR will be in the championship next year.

Maybe the offer to Redknapp to manage Ukraine sparked QPR into action. Dodgy as frick, but he tends to get the best out of a good number of players and could be the sort of man to save them - or finalise them going bust.

I think this explains why Gus says he doesn't want to go up to the Premiership before we are ready, even if it takes a season or two more.

How many times does a manager get a team promoted and is then fired after a few months? How pissed off must a manager to be to get the bullet only a short time after he must have thought he had conquered the world!

Better for the manager personally to get up when the team is able to compete properly. And I personally think that's better for the club as well. You may or may not agree.

That doesn't really apply to QPR though - they're problem is they spent too much money on the wrong players.

Aye, I'm sure he's noted what happened to his mates di Matteo (at WBA) and Zola (West Ham).

Mind you, getting sacked from the PL guarantees that you pocket several million. And young PL managers usually get a second chance - or another bite at the Championship at the very least.

I for one think it's f***ing HILARIOUS how much money they've spent and how bad they've been.
I agree entirely, and it annoys me that someone like Mark Hughes gets anywhere near a job in the top flight. What has he actually achieved in management?

Too many good players in their day seem to just walk into big jobs as managers. They should have to cut their teeth like everyone else.
