It’s always been illegal - just because it worked fine before doesn’t mean it wasn’t illegal.
Not sure it’s illegal is it? They couldn’t prosecute you for it. Wouldn’t it be a breach of a civil contract, as in you’ve entered into a contract and failed to abide by the terms and conditions?

I don’t recommend doing this and potentially having your season ticket cancelled, of course.

It is illegal, and has been for 30 years - this is specifically for football.

I wont slag you off.
It does seem that it is hardly worth having a season ticket. If you have one it`s a drag if you can`t go and there are always tickets for sale even for the top games a few days before the game.
Why is it a drag?

I have a single ST and have listed it on the exchange 3/4 times in recent times when I've not been able to go and one of my sons - who have MyAlbion+ membership - are unable to go. It's sold every game - and I'm not talking about big Category A games.

It seems others have been pretty successful at selling theirs on the exchange too ... Have you ever managed to sell your ticket via Ticket Exchange?

Passing a ticket to a mate - it’s not illegal at all - that’s just what they try to say - worked fine before. The match by match prices are extortionate. There’s so many hurdles to get round if you want to bring someone else - forcing people to pay for membership. Re-selling tickets that are already sold at match day prices and adults only. There’s loads. We get most things right but like most clubs, not ticketing.

surely this has proved it is not illegal as it says "without the authorisation of the Club". It is the club that allows it for some (the ones who are 1901 members) but not for it`s core supporters.
Yes, it's illegal - unless you follow the terms laid out by the club(s) - in order to comply with the 1994 Act.

I'm not 1901 - so assume I'm one of those 'core' supporters you've mentioned. I was away on holiday for the Forest game and transferred my season ticket legally to my son following the terms laid out by the club. So the club aren't just allowing it for "some".

There are approx 700 tickets available for todays game inc two of mine which I would have given to work colleague/ friend or sons friend.
Unless they sell soon, which I doubt, seats will be empty as will many others in same boat.
If I was 1901 I could give them to anyone at the push of a button.

You like many others are happy with situation.....I like some am not.

1901 pay for that privilege and have to take responsibility for their guests. If your work colleagues etc were MyAlbion+ members, you could transfer to them. There is a process to allow you to do that - and cheaper than 1901 option.

I see there was an offer from the club for a tunnel club ticket for Wednesday’s game at a bargain £720 incl VAT

I look forward to seeing lots of rich Liverpool fans in it

Unless you go to most games, prefer the same seat, want to pay quite a bit less per game, want priority for other tickets like cup matches, Europa league etc and want the ability to easily transfer your ticket if you can’t go then agree, it’s hardly worth it

Our season tickets are dirt cheap compared with some.

It's TB's perogative to run it like this (presumably to maximise sell-outs; stop devaluing tickets; to give a perk to 1901ers etc).

I try and keep out of this thread as am aware majority seem to think system is great. However my son turned up 4 hours before united game to say something had cropped up and unable to go. That late I was left with going on my own but I managed to persuade my daughter to come . So son put his ticket on exchange and I purchased for £70 Great system for Albion because they made £25/30. That reminds me my son has not passed on to me what he got back from club.
I appreciate exchange can be good and is money making for club but would just like a compromise and be able to pass ticket on to say 3 games instead of 1

You can pay £20 a season to cover as many games as you like to pass tickets to MyAlbion+ members. Or pay a small fee per game after the first free one.

It’s done now, but in this case would it not have been cheaper, even as a one-off, to sign your daughter up to MyAlbion+? You’d then have the bonus of her being able to come to further games this season if one of you can’t make it.

Could have signed your daughter up for MA+ and shared your son’s ticket for about the same cost, then she’d have the membership available next time and she’d have got some club merch.

If it was 3 free, people would want 5

Majority doesn`t include me.. I`m more radical than you.....
When Amex opened we as family had three tickets however they were all in my name numbered 1,2,3.
anyone could use them. Presumably as 1901 are now.
Would it be that awfull to go back to that system ???
No signing up to anything needed !!
Too simple I suppose !! ...may have to make a couple of ticket officers redundant
