Great appointment for both parties, can see him being a huge success there.

Not entirely surprised. Bayern is a well run Club with a good financial position and big European heritage. Another sign that the allure of the Premiership isn't what it once was?

I did wonder why Guardiola would want to put up with the revolving door at Chelsea or the over paid and under performing prima donnas at Man C.

Shame because I hoped that we might see him at Man C. and Mourinho at United, which would have nicely continued their rivalry.

I wonder which players will now fancy playing at Bayern?

This is brilliant, I wonder who will now end up at Chelsea, I hope Rafa gets kept on... leading for the fans to call for Romans head and then him leaving them in a load of debt and watch them fall down the league.

In a pile of football shirts
just goes to show what a load of bollocks so much of the paper talk is. I read two papers today, they both said, almost categorically, that he is either going to Chelsea, or if Mancini loses support from City, he'd be going there. On top of that, another paper (The Metro I think it was) had him lined up for United if Fergie was to retire this year.

Mourinho wont get a lookin for the Utd job, Pep is just hanging out in Munchen until Fergie retires.

Utd fans wouldnt accept him if he was a former Chelsea or City manager.

I wonder how those anti-Rafa Chelsea fans feel now? If you continue to hound him out be careful what you wish for.......

Abramovich is running out of top managers to choose from. Serves them all right.

I love hearing all those plastic Chelsea fans losing it on phone-ins and threatening never to go back to the Bridge again. They'll just have to go back to being Man U fans before Chelsea became fashionable, ha ha.

This morning the BBC website was full of articles talking about Pep's desire to manage in England..... and now he's off to Munich.

He's destined to be United manager one day.

No matter what people say German football is only a footnote in the press and lags well behind the big 3 , English Italian and Spanish leagues for world wide press coverage and even if he wins the Bundesliga by 20 points it won't get much coverage.

Bayern were very unlucky to lose out to Chelsea in the last Champs Lge final. Plus one or two other German teams are doing better in Europe this season. With Pep going to Germany it will undoubtedly raise their profile.

Mind you I don't think he is nailed on to be a success, he had a relatively easy ride at Barca. Will be interesting to see how it unfolds for both Bayern and for German footie.

Can you edit in a few random capitals please? That argument is about as rock solid as Audley's chin.
Maybe he believes FFP will have an impact? or maybe he wants to perform a roots and branch overhaul of a team ? Either way the current models in the "best league in the world" is not ideally suited to these ends.
