I'm not in the least surprised. Chelsea are a joke club completely lacking class. He's rich enough not to want to work for a trigger happy twat like Abramovich.

Agree with that, relatively unproven manager.

-won the treble in his first season (how long did it take ferguson to do that?) with a team that hadn't won anything for two years
-has as many champions league wins as ferguson in MUCH less time...beating ferguson twice in the final

i'd say, considering he's already one of the most successful managers ever....he's quite proven

Bayern were insistent they weren't after Pep at all. No sirree.

That was only YESTERDAY.

Brilliant an excuse to put this one up again.........

Cpt. George Mainwaring: I could have sworn that they would never break through the Maginot line.
Sgt. Arthur Wilson: Quite right sir, they didn't.
Cpt. George Mainwaring: I thought now. I'm a pretty good judge of these matters you know Wilson.
Sgt. Arthur Wilson: They went round the side.
Cpt. George Mainwaring: I see... they what!
Sgt. Arthur Wilson: They went round the side.
Cpt. George Mainwaring: That's a typical shabby Nazi trick, you see the sort of people we're up against Wilson.
Sgt. Arthur Wilson: Most unreliable sir.

Managing Barcelona is like street racing with the fastest car in the world. You'd do very well to lose.

The fact they hadn't won anything previously in the two years like you say was more to do with the fact Jose Mourinho is the best in the world, or perhaps that Rijkaard is a poor manager (although he still is a Champions League winner + 2 times La Liga winner, you really can't fail there)

very few managers have succeeded with poor teams....the fact that they hadn't won anything in the two years previous and then won the treble is clearly important as he took an underachieving team and turned them into the best in the world in one season. He's also won HALF of Barcelona's european cups EVER (which he did in 4 seasons)

regardless of how good his team was, he clearly did a brilliant job there

maybe he wants to perform a roots and branch overhaul of a team ?.

A team that's nine points clear at the top of Bundesliga 1 and lost last season's Champions' League final only on penalties? Certainly sounds as if they need it.
