Glamour? You need glamour? How do you survive 90 minutes on a Saturday?

Don't answer that.

I don't need anything, I was pointing out why they are there. They're not there to bleed the brakes you know.

why did you think they were there in the first place?

So, we don't need them there? Great. That's that sorted. I'm off to Southampton.

I feel it's the right decision. I've always found it EXTREMLY cringy when the f1 drivers walk to the podium and they are flanked by dozens of women dressed in the same outfit applauding.

It's always felt like the ultimate "yeah, that's right ladies. I'm a bloke.....and I'm the FASTEST bloke" type show.

You mean you don't . Not sure you speak for "we"

Personally couldn't care less if they're there or not , but do enjoy watching you knicker twisters getting yourself worked up over it. :lolol:

Safe travel.

Swimming, Diving, MMA, Boxing, Surfing, any sport where men are wearing skin tight suits. Plenty out there for the ladies.

You can watch the female equivalents then (with your box of tissues).

THEY ARE THE COMPETITORS, FFS.

Nobody is making an issue of what the competitors wear. The issue here is women in not much clothing strutting around the grid for no valid reason other than the gratification of (mostly, I assume) male viewers. It's dated. It's condescending.

The men you refer to are competing in the sport itself, as you well know.

They're not prancing around waving banners simply to promote the sport to dribbling men.

And you think Tom Daley is famous because he is a good diver?! Good grief you are deluded.

Men like looking at attractive half naked women
Women like looking at attractive half naked men
Some men like looking at attractive half naked men
Some women like looking at attractive attractive half naked women

It’s natural. It’s how the world should be. Provided everyone is consenting where is the harm?

Turns out it's just a boring old business decision...

Sean Bratches, a managing director at commercial operations at Formula One, said:

“Over the last year we have looked at a number of areas which we felt needed updating so as to be more in tune with our vision for this great sport.

“While the practice of employing grid girls has been a staple of Formula one grands prix for decades, we feel this custom does not resonate with our brand values and clearly is at odds with modern-day societal norms.

“We don’t believe the practice is appropriate or relevant to Formula One and its fans, old and new, across the world.”

Given the majority of consumers of the F1 product are male then some good looking ladies goes down very nicely indeed.

If you want some good looking lads at women's sporting events have at it. Go ask for them, go hire some. I can assure you the vast majority of males will not give a flying **** if you do that. Enjoy some hot men, we don't care if you do.

I would also like to know the answer to this.

Probably doesn't fit the narrative of the liberal brainwashing of Gen Z,

though they have their faces buried in their phones continually, I doubt they'd even notice a lady on the grid, or even the cars for that matter.

For those in favour of the decision, how do you feel about nudity in film?

Should we ban movies with nudity in it, or only those with equal number of men and women showing nudity per film? What about those doing magazine covers? The COMPETITORS who are choosing to plaster their scantily clad body over magazines, is this ok or should it be banned as well? These are all questions we should be asking ourselves as this rabbit hole can go a whole lot deeper.
