I was basing my observation more on the real life of the classroom and school corridor. Interaction between the sexes has changed considerably since the internet took over. It’s pretty awful to be honest. We get lots of training on it but nobody seems to know what to do about it. One thing is clear though and that is that society is a lot more f***ed than it used to be.

Yes, I would I agree that younger people behave in a different way than they used to.

But are we really more f***ed than the days of men in the workplace thinking it’s okay to sexually assault young women? From when the likes of Saville prowled the corridors at the BBC?
From when it was taken as given an actress would have to sleep with a director?

Perhaps we are just more aware of it now because young women are empowered and can speak up for themselves?

Growing up we had a respect for the elderly or at least those who were older than us. There was a far greater interest in listening to them and learning from them.

Many non-western cultures still hold that great respect for their elders.

In western society however unlike previous generations these little shit stains especially the younger Millennials and Gen Z are so self centred that it's all about them all the time.

Sure there are some kids who are more like generations past but they aren't the majority.

I’d say part of the problem might lie in this kind of attitude from adults like you.

Telling us driving diesel cars is OK, that climate change is nothing to worry about, that Brexit will be great, that the Tories will always be great and Labour will always be shit.

Not that I really care about this small (or in my case average sized..) injustice. For the last 5000 years, at least, body/looks has been a more important, sensitive and potentially hurting subject for women, which pragmatically means you could be more liberal about making such comments regarding men without inflicting as much damage (unless the subject actually has a small dick; but usually it is not a comment about actual penis size). As a woman who worked with men in the forces and in an electricity company, I would disagree. Misogynistic men have always existed, but women are more empowered to fight back now, and the internet allows them to be shown up for what they are.

Yes, that’s a good point. A different set of problems although the problems you describe are still happening and in many ways accentuated by the internet. My fears are for the sexualisation of kids and the way they see the opposite sex as something to be used. I see the consequences when I have to break up classroom fights in afternoon lessons and the cause is invariably something toxic to do with sex. Long term damage is being done to kids’ ability to have relationships because of the way they view the opposite sex. This applies to both girls and boys. By the way a lot of the fights are between girls.
