That, among other things, is what has been going round in my head for days - This isn't to excuse Wallace in any way but somehow the culture around him has allowed him to apparently behave like this for years. No wonder he can't see that he hasn't done anything wrong if none of his colleagues have said this, and his bosses haven't pulled him to one side and told him it's his last chance. He's living in a bubble where his behaviour has become normalised in his head. He must have some friends or confidants that should have spoken out right? It looks very likely that he's something of a wrong 'un but those around him who have stayed silent should hang their heads in shame.

TBH, I think 'we' are rubbish at handling these things overall. Nobody says anything for years then, almost overnight, there's a complete witch hunt without any fair and proper process which allows his defenders, and there will be plenty, to point out that Wallace is the victim of that witch hunt. It's all so bloody binary.

You need to watch the piece Sky did having interviewed someone that was trying it say it was endemic on the programme and Wallace was by no means the only one doing it..................I posted about it a few pages back.

If it's endemic on the programme, then the investigation needs to be widened. It most definitely does not exonerate Wallace, 'because everyone is at it'.

Sadly it seems so often to be in the nature of TV (and of course film). I remember reading that the late John Thaw made a clumsy, ugly pass at a young production assistant who promptly complained to the bosses about it, only to be told “well we fully understand if this makes you want to quit.” I suspect a lot of that goes on.

Touching, or constant personal verbal sexual harrassment (which I would classify as bullying). But broad sexual innuendo, I can see the need for a change in behaviour but not mass media coverage.

1) He's not a chef he's a TV presenter.

2) The alledged behaivour took place in television studios. They just look like kitchens, such is the magic of television.

3) Multiple complaints have been made over many years.

4) If one new allegation is proven, (something that was said and reported today in the media) you'd struggle to keep your job in most industries 20 years ago. As a freelancer on a short term contract, I'd imagine your feet wouldn't touch the floor.

You’re old fashioned. I have already said, in this thread, I saw a male colleague escorted from the premises 30 years ago for inappropriate behaviour in the workplace.

He's an arse. He had a window of opportunity but instead of slipping quietly through it with an apology, he has sellotaped a bit of old paper with 'f*** off, I am right' written in felt pen to it. Silly man.

No, I won't, in the same way that the old days went way too far and needed some correction, what is going on today is almost the polar opposite. The idea of a Non Crime Hate Incident is nuts. Tearing down statues rather than expanding on the history of the person eg Captain Cook tell the story "one of the best explorers and navigators in western history, but also a complete twat who by his arrogance got himself cooked and eaten". Censorship and intolerant demands for political correctness are not the answer.

Or - and I know this might seem CRAZY - he could just apologise for anyone he's offended (in any way, shape or form), get some kind of 'help' and attempt to maintain his career and reputation?
