Their reaction, much like our Plymouth freind on Barnes, will be "ha we've mugged them, he wasn't very good anyway. Good riddance".

*sourgrapes*

It might be if we get him, most of them rate him highly on there boards and will be well pissed of if he leaves for us.

Claiming it is only for money as its a backwards or at best sidewides step for him.

I think it will be around 300k, I dont think that will be robbing us blind.
But equally its not a bargain, a fair price i would say after all we got 200k for our skipper.

The Plymouth fans all rated Barnes highly last week. Now they all think he "wasn't up to it, anyway". Swindon fans [Moonraker excepted, apparently] will be just the same. You wait and see.

if and this is a big if, he does go i will be pissed off, but i have faith in wilson and fitton and they wouldnt let him go without an adequate replacement/s lined up. 300k + for a 29 year old league 1 defender nearing the end of his contract is good business in anyones book.

It would be good business. Maybe that's why it looks as if it may happen, it suits both parties. We've brought in over £400k in fees so far, so have the money to spend, you get a very good price for the player.

IS there any truth in the rumour Greer has lost the captaincy over there, because i cant see anything about it anywahere, more NSC rumour mongering i would guess.

This deal is still 50/50 in my opinion. 350k should seal the deal, if we want him, pay for him, end of

Greer signing has being going on about as long as Poyet signing

Maybe that's what Greer is waiting for?

BTW, completely OT, I have a colleague called Mr Chianese. Thought you'd like to know :jester:

I do agree with you on this. My feeling is that i am not overly bothered at what actually fee would be paid, wether it is too high or not. I think it has to be seen in the overall picture of the comings and goings. I know nothing of the budget for players but at the end of the day if the outcome is that Gus has the squad he wants and done it within budget then that's great, he will have balanced overall, some "snips or free's" with some larger fees.
