El-Abd is back to worrying me as a CB , reckon he'd be a cracking DM now mind.

It has been refreshing not seeing the ball being played backwards all the time and Upson will get better with every game. Personally think Dunk could learn a lot from Upson and be a future pairing but at the moment I would stick with El-abd who also looks to get the ball forward quicker playing with Upson than Greer. Greer and el-abd play across the back too much for me and Greer sometimes looks like a rabbit in the headlights when he gets the ball and then passes it back to the goalkeeper. We have started to create more chances now because we are getting the ball forward quicker. Now all we need to do is start converting the chances.

Not beyond the realms of possibility to push him forward in place of Hammond?
Certainly more mobile to press Whittingxham in the space in front of our defence.
Or would that be a tweek too far given that Gus's tactical changes rhis season heven't been overly successful?

I would play all 3 as the back line with either Bruno or Bridge or even both pushing forward depending on the position of play as both Bruno and Bridge are quick enough to get back if Cardiff break suddenly.

Drop Greer for good let him go the end of season.Greer has been far to slow this season and been at fault for a lot of goals scord against us.

El-Abd and Upson for me, Greer on the bench.

And I never want to see El-Abd in midfield ever again. Just the thought of it sends shivers down me after last time. It would feel like we had regressed 5 years. He is a centre back, not a full back or centre midfielder.

I would leave Greer out, I like seeing El-Abd wind players up.

The overall situation is interesting but the 'El Abd wind players up' is, in my mind something that ongoing we cannot continue with - so close to a red card in many instances, we cannot continue with that any more than we should with 'other' players who are likely to get sent off ?

In the meantime, I would probably prefer to see Upson with firstly Greer but failing then El Abd, but next season hoping that we could be looking at VVD with Upson pending a long term solution which would include VVD. Perhaps Dunky will come good under the right circumstances as, after all, he has the advantage of height.

Personally although I do rate Greer, I think Upson And El-abd look pretty solid, apart from the first game at SW I personally think we have looked a lot better at the back and more sturdy when we've come under pressure late in the game from Hull especially. Just my opinion like but at this stage I can't see a reason for dropping Upson or El-abd.

But unfortunately doesn't use it to win headers but perhaps playing alongside of Upson would educate him better than along side of El Abd or Greer.

Id drop El-Abd to the bench at first to see how Greer is - if it goes well then keep El-Abd dropped, if not then Greer is dropped.

Depends on how Upson is playing too.

Greer has had more red cards than El-Abd since he came here. El-Abd and Upson for me.
