El Abd and Upson have played well in the last two games for me - so Greer on the bench :)

The overall situation is interesting but the 'El Abd wind players up' is, in my mind something that ongoing we cannot continue with - so close to a red card in many instances, we cannot continue with that any more than we should with 'other' players who are likely to get sent off?

Utter nonsense. He's rarely even gotten a yellow for his antics, so how is he "so close to a red in many instances"? He quite often gets the opposing player sent off (Ameobi, Lambert) or nullifies them (Carroll was poor until El Abd was subbed). He's an absolute MASTER at it, we'd be daft to lose it.

Carroll scored whilst El Abd was still on the pitch and had a few other chances. It's my view his shannanigans cost us the first goal as well. All this whilst Carroll was in the midst of a very very poor run of form. He hardly nullified him.

I thought El Abd contained him well, was certainly frustrating him.

And even if you are correct, it's still worked 90% of the time. It's been a big contributor to us winning a few games.

I agree he was frustrated and he complained to the ref but I don't think he was put off his game. A few chances and a goal is pretty good in the world of Andy Carroll.
