Surely he's done nothing to deserve that job? Mind you, there's something quite Southgate about him.
Precisely. Here is Southgate's career as a club manager:

And here is Potter's record:

Sing him up!

We've been saying since he was in charge at the Amex, that he would be on the FA's radar after Southgate. I could definitely see him as England boss, although he did always say he wasn't interested in international management. I think his mate Ashworth has probably had a chat with him about the Man Utd job.

From Wikipedia. Does that make any sense?

‘Three days later, Potter led Brighton to beat defending champions Liverpool 1–0 at Anfield for the first time in their history – it was also Brighton’s first league win at Liverpool since 1982’

As we can see, the F.A obviously didn't employ Southgate for his win record.
He must have been pretty amazing at interview.
He got in via the back door. U21 manager, stepped up after Big Sam was sacked. It was only supposed to be temporary but he won a few games so FA went down the easy route and made it permanent.

Poor old Ajax just when they thought things couldn't get much worse after their 6-0 defeat at the weekend !!! Turned down by a geography teacher.

I’d like to see him back if RDZ goes.
