Tactically he's streets ahead of Southgate. What hes probably not as good at is getting the respect of the England egos though.
Yeah, there's probably some truth in that. At least Southgate had personal experience of two aspects of tournament football: he knew what it was like to be a member of a Finals squad and never play a single minute, and of course he knows what it's like to miss a penalty in a penalty shootout. (And of course he was good enough to be picked by England in the first place). England players with similar experiences knew that he understood and appreciated what they were going through because he'd been in their shoes.

I'm not sure sucking your teeth and saying "It is what it is" is going to carry the same amount of respect, regardless of any Emotional Intelligence qualifications.

Yep. It could work I guess, Southgate has done the hard work on that, and has done a brilliant job with it. His problem is he is nowhere near the level of top Premier league managers tactically. Potter is.

Poor old Ajax just when they thought things couldn't get much worse after their 6-0 defeat at the weekend !!! Turned down by a geography teacher.

Get him back to Brighton!
