Genuinely mad that someone appointed this summer is now half way up the table (more or less)

I suspect the Managerial merry-go-round will have a few more turns before we get to xmas.

Interesting stat on Arsenal game yesterday, 3 of the 4 managers who led teams in the European finals (Champions league and Europa) have lost their jobs. That is amazing.

That stat isn't strictly true. 3 of the 4 managers who led teams in last seasons European Finals have left the clubs they managed at the time. Poch and Emery were sacked but Sarri quit Chelsea to join Juventus so didn't lose his job.

Almost in the top 50... Will he get there by Christmas

Not quite. If you'd have said by the New year, I would put in the same class as Mystic Meg.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Twelve_Days_of_Christmas

The Twelve Days of Christmas, also known as Twelvetide, is a festive Christian season celebrating the Nativity of Jesus. In most Western ecclesiastical traditions, "Christmas Day" is considered the "First Day of Christmas" and the Twelve Days are 25 December through 5 January, inclusive

Yup. Feels like he’s still brand new and he’s already nearly halfway up. Football’s mental.

After that performance and chatting with the Bournemouth fans on the park and ride bus, they are losing faith with the smug one rapidly!

When you look at the top 10, you have to say they have all succeeded in different ways. So what's the chicken and what's the egg? Keep a manager for success, or manager gets success and stays? Thinking of Lee Johnson in particular who City fans wanted out after they went on a terrible run starting with the defeat at home to Albion. Lansdown stuck with him, and that seems right.

I think mainly it’s that if you’re successful you will stay, rather than the other way round.

Sticking with an average manager won’t bring success (Man Utd seem to be prepared to test this theory with Solskjaer).

That said, a bit of patience with the right manager is clearly a good idea, as evidenced by Hassenhuttl as well as Johnson, and Dyche and others before that. Looks like we will take the same view re Potter.

In those cases the clubs clearly had good reasons to believe they were the right managers, despite short term results. But sticking with someone crap for the sake of it would seem a bad idea!
