But like Potter, is this an improvement?

Does anybody know? Some will tell you they do...but they don’t

Time will tell whether the new incumbent is better or not, but you can’t change anything, so time to move on and embrace the new King when he arrives. Whoever he is.

I had a discussion on here last week with someone who concluded that Hughton was a disappointment a few weeks into his reign back in March 2015 and (he says) hasn't been back to the Amex since.

Well now Houghton has got the SACK that bloke's been proved RIGHT.

At least he didn't MISS anything.

Someone was happy to sit through Hyypia's reign but thinks Hughton a disappointment?

Don't think I've ever seen a press and fans group of another club so united in wanting to keep a player/manager. This bloke obviously has something about him.

The Argus reporting this morning that Potter is on a shortlist of three but don't name the other 2 and are clear Albion want someone in, in time, to deal with pre season/ recruitment.

More on that (not much more)
https://www.theargus.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/17642690.albion-play-waiting-game-on-potter-talks/

“Albion remain confident of bringing in Potter and his coaching staff, despite having an initial approach knocked back. The process of securing clearance to open negotiations with Potter has been left in a holding pattern by the fact Swansea’s joint owners are on opposite coasts of the USA, one in Los Angeles.”

Luton/Stoke - Nathan Jones ?
Doesn't it happen quite routinely when successful lower league managers are offered bigger jobs.

It’s not the same poster who didn’t get a free shirt for his kid is it?

Presumably they haven't named the other 2, because they haven't been told.

If the club have told them there's a short list of 3, that might be because there is, or it might be because they don't want Swansea and Potter feeling that they're in the driving seat. We'd expect the club to have a few candidates in mind, but in all honesty, we're just guessing (with or without the Argus claim).

I'd have thought that went without saying.

Absolutely this. You can't negotiate if you're not on some kind of strong ground.

In fairness though, there probably are three or four candidates. You'd have to be mad to just have one egg in your basket!

Exactly.

Whatever (how fecking predictable was that)

I thought I was quite good at English, but there’s always a smart arse to keep me in check.
It's only for shits and giggles, it's really not important.

Palace only have one egg in their basket. Unfortunately for them it's a really expensive egg and it's going off.

Are they sending someone on the Queen Mary to ask the American owners permission or something? This was days ago

think that's me you're referring to - and no I've been here through the good and bad of Hughton's reign (although fortunately did miss some home games this season)

my point still stands - it's commercially ridiculous that all our replica shirts are available for 6-7 year olds apart from our actual home kit.

Good to see you've let it go.

In other news, has anyone else noticed adverts EVERYWHERE for "who killed the F***ing Zutons"? I'm not buying it on principle.
