Graeme Smith is leaving Albion and will sign for Scottish SPL side Hibernian on a free transfer later today.
The keeper joined Albion from Motherwell, under the Bosman ruling last summer, but he has slipped down the pecking order in recent weeks, following the arrival of Peter Brezovan.
Smith was in Edinburgh on New Year's Eve and passed a medical at Easter Road before agreeing personal terms with Hibs.
Meanwhile Slovakian keeper Brezovan is set to sign a deal with Albion until the end of the season in the next few days.
The 30-year-old former Swindon man told seagulls.co.uk, "I'm glad that the gaffer has offered me a new contract, as I wanted to stay here at Brighton. It's what I want and it's a great opportunity for me."
Brezovan has also thanked his team-mates for sparing his blushes at Wycombe on Monday, after his error allowed Wanderers to take a 2-1 lead.
The big Slovak added, "I made a bad mistake and it happens sometimes to all of us. It happened to me on Monday, but hopefully I will do better than that in the future.
"After that I tried to keep a cool head and put it behind me. It was important to try to forget it and continue with the game. The rest of team were very good, they all said to me not to worry, and thankfully we won the game comfortably in the end."
