None of three main parties deserve our votes anymore. They couldn't organise a piss up in a brewery. I shall vote UKIP.

By all means give the three main parties a tweak of the nose for being self indulgent smug chislas, but voting UKIP is just pandering to the Daily Express.

So who should those of us that believe we should be out of the EU ( and not just for immigration reasons ) vote for then ?

If you read the piece it doesn't really offer much of an insight on what it found as the positives, The Independant seems to have done what the Daily Mail is so often accused of.

Its a headline about something that fits their own agenda.

What the hell does a report that is 'broadly positive' tell any of us about immigration, it doesnt even offer a glimpse into what part of our lives those broadly positive bits might effect ?

It doesnt say !!!!!

Well, I appreciate I have a vested interest here, but the UK HE sector brings in about £15 billion a year, and is one of this country's highest net exporters. The government's policy to reduce international student visas by 26%, due to wanting to be able to crow about reducing migration to 100,000, is costing the Exchequer a fortune for the sake of political expediency rather than economic benefits.

At the same time the government is encouraging overseas private companies to create 'universities' here, and they employ specialists whose aim is to maximise and manipulate the student visa system. It's ridiculous.

Because it's not been published?
And unlike the Mail the Indie tries not to speculate (or make) evidence to back up it's agenda.
The article is about the report not being published not the report itself.

As opposed to the Guardian article dated Monday 12 August 2013, that gives the Labour spin on the same subject,..... quoted extract here:

Labour now recognises that immigration can have a negative effect on British workers, a shadow minister has said.

Chris Bryant, Labour's immigration spokesman, said his party had made mistakes by not acknowledging this in the past, especially when Britain did not place controls on workers arriving from eastern European countries in 2004.

In a speech on Monday, he said the party had "concerns about immigration, the pace of migration, the undercutting of workers' terms and conditions and the effect on the UK labour market".

His remarks go even further than Ed Miliband's admission that Labour failed to listen to people's concerns about immigration causing social upheaval.

What's that got to do with the report being not being published?

Is there any point in me trying to explain. I am going to leave it at that, it's easier that way.

Whenever I hear of someone disillusioned with the main political parties, I think yes, I do to, it's a system built on the foundations of a perpetual class system unable to undertake true reform.

Whenever I then hear of that same someone then saying they'll vote UKIP instead, a little part of me dies....

So its no more than a journo's interpretation which includes his assertion that it is broadly positive.

No more than that ........

Like El Presidente, I also have a vested interest, and I also agree with everything said here.

To some extent yes. But that's the point of journalism: interpretting and presenting information. There's very little conjecture and it's not particularly sensationalist.

What's hypocritical about it?
Well, shall I keep it simple for you........?... in August this year Labour were saying immigration does have a negative affect on britains workforce,.... then a few months later a report commissioned through the current government says the opposite,.... the surpression or otherwise of these results are one thing, the contradiction between our two main political bodies and these results is another altogether.
