Yes, you are probably right. However what the refugees need most is space, particularly families.

A word of advice - buy a mattress protector if taking in traumatised children.
I could be wrong but I doubt this is aimed at those on housing benefit or universal credit. Surely the potential free space is in the (bigger) houses of the more comfortably off ?
Whilst I sympathise for the Ukrainians £350 a month to let them live rent free is a bit of an insult. I live alone which means my council tax would increase. Plus god knows how much my gas/electric/and water usage would also increase. Would any NSC people host for this amount. Discuss.

Ah, so only a request to the wealthy to be charitable?
There will be plenty of people claiming the two benefits I mentioned, along with other means tested benefits, who may have room to assist, but could get caught in government earnings related red-tape.
Failing that, I'm sure Jacob Rees-Mogg and some of his colleagues could throw their doors open to assist.
How can you be out of pocket if you're not interested in hosting any refugees?Cryarsing there’s no need for that. My basic point was I could potentially be out of pocket

Well obviously the rent is included - you don't get £350, and then bill the refugees on top of that. Bills will also be included. I don't know about food.Does anyone know what you're expected to provide when hosting a refugee - is it just a spare room, including rent and bills? Do you need to provide food etc as well or does the refugee get separate support for that?
There is no way it costs more that £350/month to host someone. Is it possible the OP has been misinterpreted a bit here? Theres probably a chunk of people who might want to help/take someone in but if the cost of doing so is more than the £350 then they mightnt be able to do it
Don’t do it then knob-head
Ok if its insults you want your a c u nt

They are also likely to steal everything you have, drug and tie you up, then transport you back to Ukraine to work as a juggler in a neo nazi financed circus catering (but not exclusively) for the Russian speaking lesbian community.
Why didn't we offer this scheme to Syrian, Afghan and cross Channel refugees ?
I believe some employers are prepared to fast track and offer jobs to the Ukrainians who go straight to the front of the queue.
