If you follow politics then you begin to realise this man is very contradictory.
Maybe it isn't standardized then, still doesn't mean he actually writes the letters himself. I'm just going by what he said in a speech. His own words.
Well unfortunately , "going by what he said in a speech", made you wrong, it states he writes them himself.

I am afraid it i not spot on. they had a hand writing expert who said there were infact NO spelling mistakes as it was the style of his hand. He also said the letter took a long time to write and that Brown as under intense stress whilst he was writing it.

Also he is partially sighted as well don't forget.

The fact soldiers are laying there life on line and get treated and used by everyone ie the papers, politicans etc etc is just terrible. I was more agreeing with Bushy for what he says about Brown trying to curry favour with the likes of x factor, I dont know the whole facts and it does seem the mother is selling her grief somewhat. But never the less its a very real grief which manifests its self in many ways and the mother may very well be being
coerced by outside influences.

Then again i think im talking bollox as usual sorry

Of course, you would be making the same post if it was a tory politician on the rack ? If your post is aimed at me , then your way off the mark and i take great exception to it.

I dont live in UK, and havnt for many years. The politics there mean nothing to me. However, I see a flood of crap from people making political comments about this issue. This issue is between the family who feel slighted and the PMs office. Not the Sun who are actively supporting the Tory party, or the public. Frankly couldnt give a flying feck if youre offended. The issue is feck all to do with you.

Firstly my sympathys to the mother of one of our soldiers.

Secondly I am not a Gordon Brown fan.

But he made a spelling mistake, true he should take as much care as possible but it was still a spelling mistake.

And then to critcise his defence funding etc. as he telephoned to apologise is just opportunism.

The lady should stop using her son's death to enable her 15 minutes of fame.

The likelihood is that Gordon Brown handwrote the letter from a version that had been typed up by his officials. I know this from my day to day job. In all probability, a civil servant was to blame but the PM could hardly say as much since he would then be accused of trying to shift the blame. Who would be a politician?

Perhaps you could enlighten us as to what exactly is your day job and how it has relevence to knowing exactly what goes on at No.10?

I genuinely belive Brown is fundamentally a decent and honourable Man. I just disagree with just about very one of his policies that is all. Still he is a decent Man and this circus today is reprehensible.

Is this the deeply decent man who lied to the nation over the EU constitution referendum?

What is DC's stance on the EU referendum. One minute a vote, the next minute not. Pot and kettle spring to mind.

If you don't like Gordon Brown this will do as a stick to beat him with. But just be honest about what is going on.

Spot on. Personally, I don't like Gordon Brown as I see him as basically a decent human being with the best of intentions but that he has poor management skills. As a someone who leans towards the socialist side of the political spectrum I would hope he goes before the next election to give Labour a chance of retaining power. However, this type of story reflects the worst side of British journalism.

The problem now is that a large proportion of the UK public will now just think " oh sod off you silly old bat ". She is in danger of sullying the memory of her Son and any sympathy will be lost.

The Sun are exploiting this with a Woman who may not have the highest IQ and does not realise the damage she is doing now not only to herself but to her Son's memory.

The Sun don' give a shit about this however as they are scoring points off Brown.

I am afraid it i not spot on. they had a hand writing expert who said there were infact NO spelling mistakes as it was the style of his hand. He also said the letter took a long time to write and that Brown as under intense stress whilst he was writing it.

It's a miracle. There are three, yes I said three, Uncle Spielberg posts that I agree with.

Unfortunately, part of a politicians life is to curry favour with the populus, that's how you get voted in. Despite the war, life in the UK still goes on. Does anyone stop watching X Factor because of it! Did all those 18-24 year olds (and others) who watched the X Factor on Saturday switch over to watch the remembrance service?

The handwriting and spelling in the letter are f***ing shocking, there are soldiers in afghanistan living in shellscrapes in a sleeping bag, and will be doing so for the next six months who write neater better spelt letters , if he can find time to write to f***ing x factor contestants in a pathetic attempt to curry favour and appear in touch with modern life, the least he can do is make sure that any letters of condolence sent out are written NEATLY and spelt CORRECTLY.

What a f***ing AWFUL thing to say.

lol @ ex serving member...

Whats the alternative, ex non-serving member?

tsk tsk.. thats a terrible post. Are you blind in one eye? Stressed due to your job? Busy juggling war and economic issues?
or just waffling bollocks on NSC to impose your political leanings.
