Good to see Wayne Bridge is taking it easy......

No, this was Wednesday night....!!! The guy has a knee injury, surely he should be looking after himself. I'm a Bridge fan and love the fact that he has chosen Brighton to play for but come on..!! Be interesting to see if he makes the team for tomorrow.

He was talking about last season following the Middlesbrough game in March.

If Bridge has been told his calf injury is keeping him out of the team for a couple of weeks, then why shouldn't he have a drink?

The players are allowed to drink on the Saturday night following a match especially if the following game isn't until the next Friday.

I agree with that but not after Wednesday night prior to a Saturday game ie 48 - 60 hours prior to a game. I would think that they are allowed on a Saturday evening after a game but not after that if there is a game on Tuesday evening.

Well as far as I'm concerned, this is BRILLIANT. In days gone by, all we had was no-marks like Liam Dickinson carrying unconcious drunken SLUTS across the Kings Road outside the Odeon.

Now we have the ex-England leftback off his TITS in Leicester square after the Premiere of Twilight, being helped into a cab by the older sister of one of the SATURDAYS.

And yet some people STILL don't see how far we've come as a club ? Pfff. Come on.

What..?? This was Wednesday, 2 nights ago, what the hell has this got to do with Middlesbrough last season...??!! The guy has a knee injury, possibly restricts his training, surely that is reason enough to try extra hard to stay fit..??

I would think that a man who has played the game as a professional for 15 years and at the highest level would know when he can drink and when he cant so as to affect his health and fitness. He is obviously not going to play this week so having a drink on a Wednesday a minimum of 10 days prior to playing will not affect him adversely.

This is the modern day footballer I'm afraid. Bumped into ten of our squad absolutely wasted in a club in Brighton in the middle of our attempt for the plays offs towards the end of last season. They take our money and p**s it up the wall. If you think they are any different to the rest of us on a night off you'd be very wrong!!!!!

Post 7 by Baaaald was referring to the team out on a Sat night following the Boro game last season.

Bridge was out on Wed night this week probably because he's injured and not required to play.

This thread has been discussing two different instances.

Perhaps its me but I got the impression that one of the posters was saying that our players were out on the lash the night before the Boro game but that changed to Saturday night after the game. I stressed that they wouldn't have been out the night or two before a game.

LIKE.

I will say...pretty jealous of Wayne's World right now. He has a girlfriend who is bang tidy, gets paid £90,00 a week, plays attacking football for a quality Championship side and gets hammered on a weekday night. Total Lad!
Anyone want Marcos Painter as our first choice left back still?!

Well this is a DISGRACE.

How dare he live a normal life?

He should be training 18 hours a day 7 days a week, and in the few milliseconds he gets away from dedicating himself to US (after all, we buy tickets to games so we should be allowed to dictate every aspect of their lives) he should be sat at home staring at the walls (not watching television because that might distract him from football) and thinking of what he will do in the next game.

How DARE a footballer do anything to enjoy himself? I am so angry.

You, sir, are a pointless C*NT and a waste of oxygen.

Throw yourself off a bridge.

I happen to know Victoria well and can tell you that Wayne does take it very easy in a night out and doesn't get trashed. For f*** sake people are allowed to socialise you know whatever their profession

Probably not. Mainly because Bridge has been brilliant for us and had a well deserved night off nowhere near a game. Tell me.... have you ever gone out and got drunk on a Friday and made it into work the following Monday?

The difference is that many fans are grateful that Bridge has come and joined us, along with her missus (which many probably wank themselves sleep too)

That's the difference. He's on a loan and we can easily terminate or send backto City when he's injured but we're pumping shit loads of money into Vicente just so he can play the odd cameo appearance. Even though he needs to man the f*** up because he's faking!
