Good luck to all those doing the Brighton marathon today

I projectile vomited a load of powerade all over the bathroom when I got home. I won't be drinking any of that for a while I reckon.

Those of us from our Athletics club that were watching were wondering how many more years before they realise that drinks like that for a marathon are not a good idea.

What you need is water for hydration and those small gel packs for energy boost. London had worked this out about 2/3 years ago.

The powerade was ok early on but for the second half water was far better, bottles tho, i had trouble with those water packet things even tho they were already open!! Really liked the shot blocks too....not tried them before.

Respect to all of you who completed the course, I completed my first marathon in 4:41:39 which I am utterly chuffed to bits about. Remember saying hello to the REMF Palace chap on the home leg by Hove Lagoon.
This is me in the yellow just before the finish line!
