Good luck to all those doing the Brighton marathon today

Holy shit, I can barely manage a lap of my own lounge right now!
I did it in 5hrs 12 mins, and I can't tell you how chuffed I am. Realised at about 10 miles that I didn't care about the time, that was my worst part of the race. By 16 miles I was loving it, the crowds on New Church Road were great and people kept shouting my name (if you've never run it you have no idea what a boost this is). The power station bit wasn't even that bad as I'd convinced myself by that point that the end was in sight and the mileage left was well into single figures
Wasn't wearing an Albion shirt myself but I did shout Seagulls on many occasions to those who were.
I bloody hurt now, I have some corking tan lines and some quite tremendous blisters, but nobody can ever take it away from me now, I've done it and got my medal. Woohoo!
(wish I'd seen Glenn Murray though)

I saw mendoza watching - i am a bit alarmed that I can recognise somebody from NSC - thanks for the support .

That was, I reckon, after a mere 13 miles, when I was not in a particularly good place
I did manage to spot Mendoza, Lush, Row Z Creased Shirt, or whatever he calls himself these days, Fourteenth Eye and various others. Thanks for the cheering ladies & gents. You should have seen me on New Church Road, around the 16 mile mark. I was on a proper roll then, and was having a great time, high fiving all the kids lining the route
Edit: now if we can just nail down promotion over the next few days, this could be one of the best weeks of my life!

She hobbled over in 7:50:48 after collapsing at 15miles, near her flat. Tony then walked round with her!

Brighton & Hove Albion
got round today 15 minutes faster than last year, PB of 4 hours, 14 minutes, and 34 seconds...very happy with that considering I was carrying an achilles injury and the weather. More important though, is the turnout by the people of Brighton...fantastic again today and really give you the boost you need in those challenging moments. Well done everyone.
