Stupid IDIOT
Ha ! I don't think they should have sacked him and Bloom has made a risky mistake. is that the club view ?
Your view is whatever Barber has emailed you to have

I wasn’t querying that , I was giving Chailey, who questioned when TB had said he had considered sacking CH a few weeks before, a link to where it was said. I don’t doubt it was a shock to CH but as I said before I’m surprised he couldn’t potentially see it coming.
An idea that the club were underperforming, had put a string of poor results together, were at risk until the last minute of relegation . Of course he did. He talked about mutliple times in interviews through that period and in the Times interview this morning. Its pretty patronising to pretend he didn't.
Thats not the same as expecting to be sacked. By all accounts Bloom made the decision late in the day, Hughton was under impression (according to various reports) that he was being called in to Lancing to discuss the summer recruitment and in his interviews post Arsenal , post Man City he had talked in good faith about "next season".
Plenty on NSC , even those that had argued he should go, according to their own posts, were shocked and surprised Bloom had done it.
Why are you so amazed that Hughton was shocked ?

I wasn't questioning the Argus reporting at all or that Bloom had thought about it beforehand. You'd be amazed if he hadn't.
But he certainly hadn't said it to anyone publicly either then or subsequently. And the constant implication again and again on here that Hughton is at best naive or worst lying when he insists it came as a shock is a bit insulting .
Come on Chailey you must have seen Bloom’s alleged comments about this in the plethora of post sacking articles. You are quick enough to find ones that back up your viewpoint

I doubt the Argus would have made it up, don’t you?
As you're now arguing about the exact words Tony might have used privately, and not the intent of those words, you'll forgive me for staying out of this particular level of myopia.
At least it's on NSC so I don't have to write 'can you believe this nonsense?'
I won’t be backing you up again
I think about Oct/Nov time a chairman of a low performing club in The Premier will look at him as reliable and able to keep them up, perhaps Sheff Utd or similar.
“The biggest disappointment is that I never saw it coming,” the 60-year-old says. “As a manager you get a feel when things are not right or relationships have broken down, but there was never anything there for me to feel what was coming. I thought the chairman was in there for club stuff or if he was there to see me it was about the pre-season, so it was a big shock. For a moment I couldn’t say anything. I absolutely wasn’t expecting it, I was stunned, there was a silence.”
Fair warning to Potter. It could happen to you the same way. Never ever keep your guard down. You could be sacked at any day or time. It's now the Albion Way. The Albion upper management should be ashamed. This should never have happened to a man like Chris Hughton.
Not really, only if Bloom was honest with him at that point. Also making it fairly certain he wasn't told his job was safe, either.
Confusing times for you?Ha ! I don't think they should have sacked him and Bloom has made a risky mistake. is that the club view ?
In that report they state Hughton had no inkling of his planned sacking
"Albion picked up their first away point in 12 attempts against the top six at Arsenal in what proved to be Hughton’s last away game in charge.
He had no inkling of Bloom’s decision in the immediate aftermath of his final match, Sunday’s 4-1 defeat at the Amex which clinched the title for Manchester City."
Oh FFS. Talk about completely misunderstanding the club. CH can cope, and has had his contract fully paid up, no strings attached. But he was the manager, not the owner. Ultimately the buck stops with TB. Luckily for us he has balls of steele and didn't wimp out of making a necessary (in his view, our view is irrelevant) decision out of sentiment. We are a football club, not a Darby and Joan club.
Reaffirms what most people believe about his character but seems the interviewer has an agenda! Not sure how it can be said with certainty that the cup run was a negative impact on the season. It may or may not have been.
All true.
But it certainly doesn’t/shouldn’t stop some of us from questioning it.
I didn’t agree at all, but we may well be mid-table at the end of the season, and playing more expansive football, which is presumably what Bloom aspires to.
Personally, once again I’d take safety and a cup run.

We'd have played Cardiff on the weekend of the Millwall match - before the relegation spiral had started in earnest.
If we'd have won, Hughton may still be here.
Yes it shows he was never spoken to about improving results,so it all came as a surprise after keeping the club up
The manager he took over from was begged to stay by the chairman, even though he was taking us down. A previous manager had a hearing and a right to appeal. I think he had a right to be surprised by previous handling of the managers and the inconsistency
