Anyone?

Am a fan of Chinese/Thai/Japanese cuisine etc, been to Yo Sushi, Wagamama's etc, but yet to find a GOOD chinese (whether buffet or proper) in Brighton.

China Hins on Church Road is alright. I go there occasionally but I do prefer the Ganges Brasserie a little further up the road...which is Indian.

If you like Jap food check Moshi Moshi this weekend as they have a 3 day festival in Bartholomew Square.

Chinese is a tricky one. I still haven't found a decent one.

If you want to try a new (unless you have already been there) Thai, Sukothai Palace (on Middle Street) has never let me down.

"Days" All You Can Eat Buffet has opened in the last couple of weeks, its pretty good, but covers EVERYTHING

Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Turkish, Lebanese, Malaysian, has about 150 dishes. Unfortunatley it covers the English with onion rings, ships, mini sausages, but I was impressed, especially with the Tepenyaki bar, and BBQ grill. If yo are peckish after 10.30pm, its all you can fit in a takeaway box for just £2

As for Chinese, I go to China Garden pretty much every weekend with the family, never had a problem with the food, despite its problems in the kitchen area in the past. Its always full of Chinese people, so thats a good enough sign for me

The one next to the club shop is very good too, all you can eat off the menu type thing. Lee Cottage I think is its name

If you don't mind a short trek out to Hove/Portslade, then you can experience the EXQUISITE chinese food at the Oriental Village in Boundary Road. For just fifteen of your english pounds plus a further 50 pence (service included), you can have ALL YOU CAN EAT from this menu.

Oriental Village website

And its not that buffet rubbish either. Proper table service from attentive and courteous waiters who will cater to your every WHIM. It is a feast for the eye, a joy for the palatte.

:dunce: What planet am I on?

Used to live in Oriental Place and ate at China China fairly often. It is cheap and cheerful. Quite studenty, but very popular with the local chinese which is surely a good sign.

Haven't eaten at China Garden or Gars for years. Not sure what the standard is of them.

China China not so good as it was at the mo unfortunately, I was mildly addicted to their King Prawn Kung Po for ages, £5 for a massive plate with fantastic tempura deep fried prawns, but recently (two weeks ago) they were soggy and limp. Quite saddened I was. Will try again as maybe just a bad day...

Wokmania was shit last time I went. Loads of punters hanging around waiting for another tray of duck, and as soon as it arrived there was a STAMPEDE for it. You literally had to ELBOW your way through to get something half decent before it was all snaffled.

I saw a father return to his family's table as a haunted, broken man after he missed out on the last scoop of Cantonese Sweet & Sour King Prawns with teriyaki sauce.

Yeah that's one of only two places I've been in Brighton. Both were rubbish.

Exactly as you describe it. All you can eat Buffet with NOTHING there to eat.

Okinami - Norman Cooks Japanese restaurant in New Road is very reasonable. The food is not authentic japanese but is certainly to an acceptable western standard.
