how can you say give Mid Sussex a miss but play Waterhall? REALLY?

ESN is somthing i will do next summer, not in the winter.

If this is for the winter, then anywhere on the Downs. All the Mid Sussex courses, as you know, will get very wet.

Avoid Hastings though (Beauport Park that was).

And unless you have difficulty walking, please never, ever use a buggy. :)

The Dyke is tough, greens are excellent. I am a member.
Littlehampton I loved and is probably my most favourite course that I have played.
Lewes on top of the hill is different.
ESN.
Chartham Park is supposed to be good, I have not played it.
Cooden Beach and Rye, definitely want to play these, both recommended by many a golfer.
Cottesmore is a good challenge, nice old course - Griffin that is.
Mannings Heath - Waterfall.

South Wales (im not welsh !!)
I have always loved East Brighton if only for the fantastic par five that goes down the hill looking over to St Dunstans. fantastic view

oh and the main course at Rye, cant remember the names but the second is a bit manky but a REAL links course

I lived there in 1968 for a couple of years, my parents were Steward & Stewardess there, a great course as young as I was I remember it well.

Personally (albeit a very biased opinion as I was the Assistant Pro there for a few years) The Dyke is a very good course.....well it was!!

West Chiltington is nice, front nine especially. If you can afford it, or even get on it, West Sussex Golf Club is widely lauded as one of the finest golf courses in England never to have hosted a PGA tournament.

Give Seaford Head ago its a nice course but the main attraction is the 18th its one of the most memorable holes I have played.
The view from the tee is special.

Don't forget the view from 14th, a glorious view of the Sisters. Used to play there a lot with a friend & we would often wave the next group through just so we could enjoy the view for a bit longer.

Being par 5 helps, should be par 4 particularly when following wind. Not so keen on the craters towards end of round.

For spectacular views you cannot beat Eastbourne Downs, and it has very good drainage so rarely unplayable, mind you the wind can be a bit testing. My home course of Wellshurst is a tight course with some interesting doglegs and water hazards, but a bit wet this time of year.

Ham Manor Rustington is a good course and Littlehampton is worth a go if you fancy a bit of links with a challenging south west wind.

Am an Artisan member at Royal Ashdown so luckily get to play all the fancy courses around the county and can safely say West Sussex is the best course in the county, shortish, but beautiful, different and carpet like greens.

As mentioned already get down to Littlehampton for some challenging links play...some real challenging carries over rough big enough to hide tigers!

On the A264 between E. Grinstead and T. Wells, Sweetwoods Park, superb course which the members of the golf society I organize, always vote to go back to.

Mid-Sussex is an absolute must next year on the 22nd June. Why? Because it will be the next REMF Charity Golf Day.

My Parents used to know the secretary of Littlehampton GC he will have passed away by now I'm sure, but I expect there is still referance to him, Group Captain Richard White.

I played there many times years ago, again another good links course.
