Tillgate getting hardly a mention. Quite like it. Can't stand Peacehaven. Brighton & Hove and Royal Eastbourne

My only issue with tillgate is that it is unforgiving to the amateur. The fairways are quite tight and being in he middle of a forest, you have to be able to hit straight

Nothing wrong with Royal Eastbourne...I've been a member since 2000 and love the place. The course is always prepared magnificently too. Plenty of decent courses in the area too with Eastbourne Downs, Seaford, Cooden Beach, Dale Hill and Highwoods all good tests of golf.

Times may have changed recently(I doubt it very much)...You cant play Rye unless you are with a member. To become a member of Rye you need to either a) be something akin to royalty, b) Be stinking rich and very well connected or c) both of a&b.....They certainly don't take green fees, well they never used to.....But it does sound good to say you've played their...This isn't necessarily because it's a fantastic course, it's just because it's the way it is. Old school tie and all that.

Give Seaford Head ago its a nice course but the main attraction is the 18th its one of the most memorable holes I have played.
The view from the tee is special.
