Well, after much deliberation, detailed photographic overlapping and most importantly my wife's valued and learned input......we reckon the centre spot is at the exit door of Toys'r'Us.

So many memories.

I am lucky that come tomorrow I have been married for 30 years.
I have never had my heart broken by a woman.

I watched as a fan, trained and played as a player (not a very dedicated one),and went back to play in Cup Finals as a Mickey Mouse player.

When the Goldstone was destroyed it broke my heart, and I never thought it would.

I used to travel to Brighton games on the train from Bexhill to Hove, my dad used to be one of the BT police who escorted fans from Eastbourne to Hove.
He told me to meet him in the west stand and stay there before the game started, but me being me I ended up in the North stand, only for me to get summoned via tannoy to get back to the west stand.
Highly embarrassed I was after a right rollocking :)

Remember going to my first games in the late 70s. Having a ST in the mid-80s. Goldstone Gaz, Gulls Eye, the Evening Argus seller, Dean Saunders making his debut. Walking past in my lunch break at school. Watching reserve games from the West Stand. Seeing players on their way to/from the ground. Feeling that it was a local's club.

And being able to walk to and from the ground. I know it might seem pathetic to some, but the rigmarole of the journey to and from the ground is really off-putting for me

Also taking the dog round hove rec and watching the team train,a local club for local fans:rolleyes:

In the school holidays myself and a good mate would go to the Goldstone and wait for the players to walk up to Hove Rec for training.
Seeing the training ground now it seems funny that the team trained in a public park.
