[Brighton] Glyphosate weed killer could return to Brighton

I’ve been solo litter picking for years, never received one negative comment.

Maybe I've been unlucky. Out in the countryside (also used to regularly litterpick the old railway line in Hangleton) always got positive comments. In the city centre, much less so. As I say, I won't do around Pav Gardens again.

I didn’t think about the H&S thing of needles, mentioned above .

I clear all over, I did some yesterday in Withdean/Westdene on a brisk walk in the sun. Separating litter and recycling, popping it in the right bins. Find it satisfying.

When I visited Brighton in July I was appalled at the state of the streets - hove lawns used to be like center court and was overgrown it’s so depressing. In Australia you’re responsible for your own nature strip / verge outside the front of the house and everyone buys into it, with few exceptions in my area - when did the people of Brighton stop giving a shit about living in a tidy environment ? Right about the time the council gave the universities carte Blanche to increase their student numbers I’m guessing, I left in 2012 and it was on the way to this state at that point but still relatively clean on the streets

I don’t blame you. I won’t even walk in Pav Gardens let alone touch its rubbish. Two centrepieces of Brighton, the Pavilion and the Fountain have been ruined by the lawlessness and untidyness that surrounds them

That’s about it. Plus the financial strains on the council in providing social care
