Stop being so precious people, 99% of football songs are stolen. It is not original but then nor are all our other songs apart from SBTS. If it makes a bit of noise and atmosphere then just enjoy it. Harmless.

Ah well if I'm a 'mong' for celebrating a 3-0 win and our player scoring 2 goals, so be it. Happy to join in most songs if they get the supporters up and dont hurt anyone.

Wouldn't have been mongs if it was your song though?

Dont care if its my song or not. However at least it was started well before the will grigg hype. Jumping on the bandwaggon is just lame. For a striker who will hopefully score 20+ goals we should have our own song for him.

We had a discussion on the P+R bus what time somebody would start with the "..on fire " song, and thought Murray or Hemed would be the recipient.
I went to the Northern Ireland v Germany game in Paris and the Green Army were IMMENSE when they sung it, to the point that I wanted to sign Will Grieg purely for the chant. I believe SV Hamburg supporters petitioned their chairman to sign him for the same reason.
As Brighton supporters we're lucky to have the unique GOSBTS as an original terrace anthem, so if we have to borrow one or two others then it's not the end of the world. Let 'em sing, I say.

To solve the syllable problem, we should use "GM's on fire" instead of his full name

Don't think there is a syllable problem if singing 'Murray's on fire'. When I typed the title to this thread I didn't pay too much attention to the syllables at the time - just wanted to acknowledge the song that was sung on Friday and seeing everyone bouncing !

Somehow I doubt that those among us who like to think of themselves as hard will much fancy belting out a tune originally sung by Mary Poppins :lolol:

Who's that man we signed from Rochdale
That man we once again adore
Glenn Murray is his name and he scores a goal a game
And we don't miss Poyet anymore

I was thinking this, but not Poyet, but Leo

Who's that man we signed from Rochdale
That man we once again adore
Glenn Murray is his name and he scores a goal a game
And we don't miss Leo anymore
