the way he holds the ball up is second to none and his defensive play is also very good this would be fantastic news if true

A million pounds all-in over three years for a striker who is proven at league one level, has a very respectable strike rate, and who, at very least, has the potential to make the step up. Add to that he has a phenomenal work ethic and the fact that he is one of our best defenders of set pieces.

Of course there may be the added bonus of a signing fee but assume that his original transfer fee was £300K as reported and factor in his salary and I'm guessing that is pretty well spot on the same as his contract has cost us over the last three years.

Sounds like a more than decent piece of business to me.

Yes I did ! And it's in league one I did not tweet that.

Cor a guessing game. I'm going to go with a club in the South East/London so he can be near his family (Leon Knight that is)

Jolly good news if true. A bit of security for both sides then. We'd start to know who's staying and look to build around them. Someone clinical alongside him and we have a killer front-pair.

There's no doubt in my mind he's Championship class - and for a 'star' player striker in an ambitious southern-based club that sounds in the ball-park for a contract for that division.

I can see why some negotiations will be complicated for Brighton this summer. The new FL TV deal has been agreed at 25 per cent less than the last one, and it is widely acknowledged that Championship clubs will be hardest hit. The established clubs in that division are all going to be trimming their wage bills, and offering smaller new deals.

That may mean that for a new club arriving in, and more importantly for the players, the money is not quite what they were expecting.

We're lucky comming up into that situation as we are able to adjust our budget more readily than a club already there or coming back down into it due tio starting on a lower scale of wages.

In my eyes, he has the ability to emulate Danny graham next season. Both of whom are very similar players with a similar strike rate in this league. Hope its true.
